Month: August 2019
It’s a saying we’ve all heard, “opposites attract.” As a popular trope in television and movies, it mostly serves to highlight the superficial comedic difference between two larger than life characters; however, we all know that in our interpersonal lives, having somebody with different traits, morals and ways of thinking can often help us grow beyond the limitations of our own minds.
Whether it is a significant other, a close friend, a co-worker or a family member, having somebody in our lives whose skills and capabilities complement (or even challenge!) ours through diversity is a valuable tool for self-reflection and growth.
What are Sister Signs?
Though the name implies a certain degree of closeness, sister signs are quite the opposite- pun intended. It would be easy to assume a ‘sister sign’ is one of the signs bookending your own, or perhaps even within your element. However, if you look at the zodiac signs as a wheel, your sister sign is the astrological segment directly across from yours. There are six pairings in the entire zodiac, and they occur at random in terms of planetary influence.
There is some synchronicity amongst sister signs though, such as their modalities; all Cardinal, Fixed and Mutable signs are clustered together, most likely due to their temporal occurrence in the zodiac – modality changes every three months, unlike the 30-day astrological change. Likewise, due to the 120-day elemental rotation, you’ll find Air and Fire paired as sister signs, with Water and Earth sharing the other half of the chart.
Wait – Modality? Elemental? What?
We can explain!
There is a common thread among the metaphysical branches – the four elements of Earth, Air, Fire, and Water.
For many ancient philosophers and scientists, it was believed that these four elements were the foundation of life itself. As such, they are reflected in astrology with each element giving different aspects to the sign in its quadrant during the four seasons.
Fire indicates energy and action, Earth represents stability and practicality, Air symbolizes mobility and intellect, and Water corresponds to emotion and vitality. These are the common threads that bind together the astrological signs in their element.
Now, if all that influenced a zodiac sign were their element, then why does a Pisces wear their heart on their sleeve and a Scorpio is so secretive? Or a Gemini totally scatterbrained but an Aquarius possesses laser focus? This is where modality enters the picture.
As the four elements break up the zodiac, and the four seasons create our calendar year, each 3-month long season has a beginning, a middle, and an end. These are our modalities and represent initiative, sustenance, and change. Often referred to as Cardinal, Fixed and Mutable, these aspects of a sign dictate the rigidity or fluidity of their personality, ways they can be influenced, and how they acclimate to change.
The combination of elemental and modal influence are what shape each sign of the zodiac and form the foundation of their astrological profile. When both are taken into consideration, this combination creates the ideological stronghold of each sign – the base traits of their personality. This is why these two facets of astrology are so important to the logic of sister signs.
What are the Sister Signs & How Do They Benefit Each Other?
Aquarius & Leo
Both Fixed signs, they can often be perceived as egotistical and superior; they truly believe they know best. However, these signs have a lot to learn from each other. Fire sign Leo can stoke the passion Aquarius needs to bring their ideas to fruition. Likewise, intellectual Air qualities can bring clarity and focus to the brute force determination of a Leo. Aquarius can sometimes be seen as aloof or distant, which social to the max Leo helps them overcome. And if at the same time, Aquarius teaches Leo to conserve their emotional generosity to protect their surprisingly fragile ego, even better!
Pisces & Virgo
This Water and Earth pairing share a Mutable energy – they are malleable in their personalities, and appreciate the value of change. While Virgos are rational and efficient and use this energy to influence life around them, Pisces are deeply emotional and more likely to be influenced by what is happening to them. They are both sensitive and wise, but Virgo can better analyze their emotions to gain perspective; this ability is something Pisces would benefit from. The rigidity and control that drives Virgo is something Pisces can help with though, as they are laidback and easygoing.
Aries & Libra
With Cardinal signs, you often see a drive that other modalities lack; these people know how to get things done. In Aries, this trait is very apparent – ‘forceful’ is one way to describe it. Libra has a more balanced approach to accomplishing things, which Aries could take notes on. Not everything in life is a battle! However, Libra can spend too much time trying to be diplomatic, and Aries would be a good influence on being decisive. If this Fire sign can use their energy to boost Libra’s sometimes lazy tendencies, then perhaps, in turn, Aries would benefit from this Air sign’s ability to let go and self-reflect.
Taurus & Scorpio
Introverted and emotional, these Fixed signs have strong boundaries – good luck getting Scorpio to open up, or making Taurus change their mind. This pair spends a lot of their energy internally, though Scorpio could take a lesson in the quiet power their Earth sign partner exudes; Taurus is respectable and focused, which can be useful. This Water sign’s influence helps Taurus push their boundaries, and perhaps be more inquisitive, since Scorpio loves to question things and doesn’t accept the status quo.
Gemini & Sagittarius
This Mutable pairing doesn’t just embrace change, they crave it! Sagittarius can be impulsive, and while Gemini has a million ideas, they’ve all been carefully analyzed- something this Fire sign lacks. With that said, they can certainly help their Air sign partner live more in the moment, as Gemini can sometimes get lost in their mind. Sag would find great benefit in Gemini’s thirst for knowledge (not just experience!), and Gemini needs the balance of Sag’s ability to action their ideas.
Cancer & Capricorn
A Cardinal pairing with traditional values, such as family and success, these sister signs are all about hard work. While Cancer has a lot of raw emotion to handle, their Earth counterpart is skilled at focusing and putting aside their feelings. However, Capricorn can sometimes repress their true selves, and this Water sign is all about being open and authentic. Neither is very outgoing, though Cap can teach Cancer subtle leadership; likewise, Cancer could help Cap with being more inviting.
Are Sister Signs Really Opposites?
Yes and no – though they are reversed in placement on the zodiac wheel, and they often have very different personality traits, there are commonalities among sister signs too. As stated before, all sister signs fall within their three modalities. They also do not fall within the diametric opposites we mentally pair the elements in; Fire would be assumed the opposite of Water, yet with sister signs, it falls in line with Air.
What creates the ‘opposites attract’ mentality of sister signs is that both signs have much to gain from their exposure to each other in the pairing; there are strengths to be shared, and opportunities to explore. A healthy relationship between sister signs can elevate each individual in the pair, and lead to excellent teamwork. When in synchronicity, a sister sign pairing will have a well-rounded and powerful sense of self, whether this pairing is platonic, romantic or professional.
If you discover a sister sign in your life, work on observing the other person and trying to implement the things you admire most about them in your own life. Likewise, let your astrological partner share your experience and skills for a stronger bond both of you can enjoy!

On August 18 the planet of our passions, Mars, enters Virgo, the zodiac’s Earthy perfectionist.
Virgo brings an analytical energy to the forefront of our consciousness. Our attention will go to the details that make things tick, and thanks to Virgo’s Earthy energy, we’ll have the patience and endurance to tackle all of those little moving parts. Meanwhile, Mars lends the raw fuel that pushes us forward towards what we care about the most.
Until October 4th when Mars moves on into Libra, we are going to be fine-tuning our approach to making our dreams a reality. That means we are able to tweak the plan and iron out the kinks we may have overlooked or rushed before that cheapened the quality or presentation of our ideas.
Want to know how and why this works? Let’s take a closer look.
Mars, Planet of Love & War, Holds the Fire In You
Mars is the planet that holds our desire and drive. It is the planet of motivation and will power. It is what makes you fight for something. That is why when Mars is in retrograde, our motivation becomes lower than usual.
Mars spends about 1.5 months in each sign, taking 2 years to go through all 12 zodiac signs. Tracking which sign the planet of drive is in will help you see why you have more willpower and energy during some months, while during others you feel like goofing off and relaxing more.
Did you know that we each express our passion based on what zodiac sign Mars was in at the moment of our birth? That is why some people act like a steamroller at work while others seem mildly sedated. You can look at your Free Birth Chart for this extra insight into your personal approach to your passion in life.
Earthy Virgo Helps You Take Honest Inventory of Your Plan
Virgo energy makes one think of a loyal accountant who spends days crunching numbers and making sure there are no errors in the balance sheet. Virgos are known to be perfectionists, meaning they will not stop until they have figured out why something is not working. The good news is we can really use this energy when it comes to moving towards our purpose to make sure there are no leaking cracks in the soul ship hull.
Ultimately, as we move into the end of August and through September, the planets are helping you fine-tune yourself to sing the right notes of the song of your soul. Perhaps you had an idea of what your purpose is, but no clear way to get there. Well, let the path be illuminated now and use the energy available to you to connect the dots. It’s really going to feel satisfying as if you are putting in that last puzzle piece.

We’ve all been there, some more than others. A restless night not only contributes towards crankiness, irritability and an excess of caffeine as we glug down coffee in an attempt to stay awake, but it also wreaks havoc with our metabolism and cortisol levels; the latter two can lead to weight gain, even more grumpiness and, more alarmingly, pounds that shoot straight to the middle and lump us with visceral fat which can give us all kinds of health problems.
Enter the Tarot to save the day (is there anything these nifty, colourful little things cannot do?) Just as Tarot can help you find your dream partner or figure out what career you’re best suited to, the cards can also help you discover methods that are particularly beneficial for you when it comes to falling asleep at night.
As many will testify, lack of sleep can have a detrimental effect on both our mental and physical state; the consequences of broken sleep or simply being unable to shut off an over-active mind can take their toll, which is why we need as much help as we can get. Read on to learn more about a Tarot spread that can help you sleep better!
Bedtime Tarot to Help You Sleep at Night
Some sleuth work is necessary here. The Tarot cannot turn around to you and say “Well, you need to avoid this and do this instead,” or reveal to you the answer to your problem in a clear and concise voice. Instead, it is up to you to deduce what the Tarot is trying to tell you from the cards. Remember, the Tarot is giving you information from your subconscious – your subconscious already knows the answer to your question; the Tarot is simply a useful messenger, relaying information from your subconscious mind to your conscious mind.
This particular Tarot spread focuses on sleep, reasons for why there are problems with sleep, and what you can do to improve your sleep. You can certainly adjust the spread if you want to or even create your own Tarot spread for it, but it may be easier to start off with this one for now and see where it takes you.
How to do the Sleep Spread:
Shuffle the cards and ask the question, “What can I do to improve my sleep?” Once shuffled, lay them out in the following order (the text that appears next to the number represents what that specific card means in the reading):
- Why am I having sleep problems? – 2 Cards
- What can I do to end my sleep problems? – 3 Cards
- What is stopping me from improving my sleep? – 1 Card
As you can see, the questions are designed to get to the root cause of your sleep issues – particularly the final card which may reveal to you a hidden meaning as to why you aren’t able to sleep well at night. For example, let’s say you know you should switch off electronics an hour before bed or you know natural sleep remedies like lavender tea can aid you in sleeping – but something stops you from taking necessary measures to act; or you act on them, but you still can’t sleep.
So, let’s say I did this reading and pulled the following cards:
- Why am I having sleep problems? – 9 of Swords and 7 of Pentacles
- What can I do to end my sleep problems? – 8 of Pentacles, the Sun, and the Fool
- What is stopping me from improving my sleep? – The Moon
Let’s go through this reading.
Why am I having sleep problems?
So, judging by the 9 of Swords and the 7 of Pentacles, I would immediately think that my sleeping issues are related to money.
- The 9 of Swords – often known as the ‘dark night of the soul’ card is a card of anxiety and stress.
- The 7 of Pentacles is a card of frustration – perhaps my money situation isn’t going well. Perhaps I am in debt and can’t find a way out.
Perhaps there are things I need to do financially and money simply isn’t appearing.
However, the 9 of Swords is also a card of making a mountain out of a molehill. Most often, the problem is never as bad as the person thinks it is. But in their mind, especially at night when there is more time to think – and worry – all sorts of monsters and horrors can transpire in the dark recesses of the mind.
What can I do to end my sleep problems?
There are two cards from the Major Arcana in this section, so I can assume my subconscious has an urgent, powerful message for me. In this reading, I would interpret the Sun and the Fool as being positive and optimistic.
- ”Be happy!” shouts the Sun.
- “Have faith!” shouts the Fool.
- The 8 of Pentacles is a card of focus and diligence, the knowledge that if one works hard towards something, they will get results in the end.
It appears that my sleeping problems are very much a direct result of my conscious mind spiralling out of control, keeping me awake with anxieties about money; but my conscious mind also needs to understand that if I maintain a positive outlook and have faith in my own abilities, working hard to make money and rectify the issue, than there will be no need for these worries anymore.
What is stopping me from improving my sleep?
The final card, the Moon, represents what may be stopping me from improving my situation. I would interpret the Moon in this context to be about confusion and feeling lost. I may feel so paralyzed with terror about my situation that I’m stuck in limbo, not knowing which way to turn. So instead, the worry just goes round and round in circles, anxiety eating away at me every night, leaving me sleep-deprived each day. This is where the Sun comes out to clear things up and remove the uncertainty of The Moon. Where the Moon is frightened and unsure, the Sun is positive and certain, promising that when the dawn breaks, all will be well.
So, as the problem is created in the mind, it is up to the mind to fix it. Fortunately, our mind is pretty brilliant at turning on itself and managing to rectify issues it conjures up. Mantras and positive affirmations are a great way to veer in the direction of a more positive frame of mind. Writing down the positive aspects of my situation can also be very helpful; focusing on the goal itself is likewise beneficial. If I wake up every morning and repeat to myself multiple times, “Everything is going to be OK. It will get better” then eventually I will start to believe it. There are so many things I can do to strengthen the positive and weaken the negative: I can talk with a trusted friend or loved one about my anxieties; I can harness the use of crystals such as amethyst and citrine which are great for conquering stress and encouraging positive thought; I can meditate and perform yoga, both of which can help align my internal energies and bring me to a state of calm and soothing.
If you have been struggling with sleep deprivation and been in despair about how you might tackle this issue, just remember that whatever it is, it can be conquered and dealt with. Using the Tarot in this way can help cast a shining light on your situation and, with any luck, lead you to a place of peace, well-being and uncompromised snoozing!

Virgo Season is fast approaching!
We’re ending August and going into September with a serious surge in Virgo energy. The Sun, Mercury, Venus, and Mars will all tour Virgo, and we’ll have a New Moon in Virgo during this time.
The dates for Virgo planet positions are:
Mars in Virgo: August 18 to October 4
Venus in Virgo: August 21 to September 14
Mercury in Virgo: August 29 to September 14
Sun in Virgo: August 23 to September 23
New Moon in Virgo: August 30
The Sun, Mercury, Venus, and Mars will overlap in Virgo August 29 to September 14, and it’ll be strongest around the New Moon August 30.
We’ll get just over 2 weeks of super-strong Virgo energy. When you get many planets positioned in one sign, this brings all of our attention to that sign. Whenever a planet transits a sign, it takes on that sign, so when multiple planets are in that sign, they’re all working with that sign’s energy. What the sign rules becomes more important, and we can make use of the natural energy that sign has.
The Basics of Virgo
Virgo is an Earth sign, making it practical, productive, and hard-working. Earth signs are grounded, tethered to reality, and focused on the physical world. As an Earth sign, Virgo wants to make things happen, not in the abstract, but in a tangible way.
Virgo is also a Mutable sign, keeping this sign busy, always going from one thing to the next. Mutable signs don’t like to be still for very long, and their energy is always moving. As a Mutable sign, Virgo doesn’t like not having enough to do.
This Earth sign and Mutable sign combo makes Virgo the sign that can get lots of little things done. Got a long list of tasks to do? This Virgo period is for you!
Mercury is the planet that rules Virgo, so despite being an Earth sign (which is all about the tangible and practical), Virgo can be quick on its feet. It’s aided by the Mutable energy, and this is a sign that can focus on the details and go from one project to the next quickly. Sometimes, it’s a little TOO quickly! Virgo’s mental energy thanks to ruler Mercury makes this sign mentally adaptable.
What Virgo Represents
Virgo is the sign of work, showing the kind of work environment we need and our approach to performing work. This can be actual professional work tasks and projects, as well as the work we do at home (chores and home tasks). When we have planetary movement in Virgo, this can show a period that is extra focused on the work that we need to do, both personally and professionally.
Our daily lives and routines are ruled by Virgo. Virgo wants to be as productive as possible, and part of achieving this is through maximizing your time, energy, resources, and schedule. Time can be spent trying to figure out ways you can squeeze every last drop of productivity from your life so you can get even more done. The more you do, the more you want to do!
Virgo rules health as well, especially taking care of the little things and routine physical maintenance. Eat healthier and exercise regularly with this Virgo energy, but also don’t forget to check in with your mental, emotional, and spiritual health too.
Pets are also the domain of Virgo, and you can get more enjoyment from spending time with them and taking care of them. This can also help with your mental and emotional health, and allow you to relieve a little stress. Studies have shown that pets can be wonderful for stress relief!
With multiple planets in Virgo, more attention can be given to these areas of life. Get work done that needs to be done, and be as productive as possible. Streamline daily life, make tweaks to your schedule and routine, and make sure to take care of yourself.
This Virgo energy will be trine Saturn, Uranus, and Pluto; since trines are positive energy, we’re given helpful discipline (Saturn), independence (Uranus), and passion (Pluto). But this Virgo energy will also be opposite Neptune and square Jupiter, 2 challenging positions, so we will need to manage potentially wandering imaginations (Neptune) and getting lost in the woods (Jupiter). Stay grounded!
Top 5 Ways to Use Virgo Energy
If you’re looking for a quick list of the top 5 ways to make use of the Virgo energy, here you go:
1. Make a list (and check it thrice!) of things you missed out on or that got messed up during the retrograde and eclipse season. Virgo gives you the opportunity to get the work done, or fix the mess that was created, and do it the right way this time!
2. Do routine maintenance. With Virgo ruling work and health, it’s a good time to go for a routine checkup, do some car maintenance, or have your printer fixed.
3. Get deep into the details. Virgo governs the details, and has an uncanny ability to spot them where others miss them. If there is something in your life where you need better understanding of the details or the fine print, Virgo energy can be a big help.
4. Break big things up into little things. Virgo doesn’t do too well with anything that is too big. That only leads to overwhelm and anxiety, which you want to avoid. If there is anything really big that you need to work on, any big task or project, break it down into smaller, more manageable steps or tasks. This helps you stay on track, and you can get a lot more done.
5. Address stress. Virgo tends to get stressed out a little too easily, so it’s important during the times when planets are positioned in Virgo to watch your stress levels. As mentioned, pets can be helpful, if you have any. But also make sure you’re not only working and never playing, ignoring little warning signs that your body may be giving you that you’re pushing yourself to the edge, and getting plenty of rest. For ideas on how to relieve stress and keep yourself emotionally balanced, check out this article on how to relieve stress via your Moon sign.
Planets in Virgo give you the opportunity to do what you need to do. This comes at the perfect time after a tumultuous retrograde and eclipse period. If you need to get back on track, you can take the opportunity to do that!

True to her name, a Gemini woman is not typically known to be one-dimensional. Some call Geminis two-faced, a nod as much to the sign of the Twins as it is to their chameleon-like personalities.
But we know Geminis as mostly kind, nurturing and open-minded, and maybe even a little whimsical or spontaneous.
On the far end, they can be seen as cold and untrustworthy, and if you cross a Gemini woman you may quickly find yourself on the wrong end of her scorn. However, if you knew the big picture, you’d see that it isn’t quite so simple, even if she’s trying to move on.
As one of the most misunderstood signs in the zodiac (you can learn more about the Gemini sign here) Geminis are constantly struggling to balance their desire for spontaneity and serendipity in life. Such as those pesky things like obligations and responsibilities—you know, like work or home life responsibilities. Sometimes a project from the office or a task at home can be left unfinished because of a Gemini girl’s desire to mix it up, but know that it’s not personal. We all sometimes need a break, especially Gemini.
That’s not to say that Gemini women aren’t kind and loving. To the contrary, they’ll stay up all night with you over a pint of rocky road to help you burn mementos of a failed relationship. They’ll likely join in and shed some tears of their own during the emotional moments or yell or scream during the intense ones. Gemini women can be great friends through tough times, and, because she’s so open-minded, you never have to worry about being judged.
Positive Gemini Traits – Female
Gemini women are mostly known as outgoing and adventurous to their family and friends. They may not have to be the life of the party every night out, but they’ll try just about anything once. Even small adventures are likely to get a Gemini woman out of the house if there’s an assignment to write or chores to do.
But don’t mistake her zest for life as a crass sensibility, Geminis are highly intelligent and love to read, and you might even find one cozying up on a Saturday night with a literary classic if no one came up with a solid plan for the night.
Most nights, however, you’ll find Geminis being spontaneous and whimsical. They love to travel to new places and meet new people, and they seek out new experiences whenever they can. They’re also independent and open-minded, so new cultures and activities help to expand Gemini’s mind, as well as keep their interest. Geminis also have a never-ending thirst for knowledge, so education never really stops, even after a Gemini woman graduates.
In the right set of circumstances, Geminis can even act as a mirror, reflecting the feelings of others in an attempt to bridge an emotional gap. Some see it as being disingenuous or “fake,” but Gemini’s really trying here. She loves empathizing with others to the point where she’ll put herself emotionally in the shoes of her friends or family, and she may even express real anger or sadness as she gets caught up on the latest drama. But don’t think she’s trying to steal your thunder — Gemini’s just trying to support you the best she can.
Negative Gemini Traits – Female
To outsiders, a Gemini woman can be tough, unapproachable and unreliable. But it’s all part of her creative and adventurous ways.
In her pursuit of fun and new experiences, she may come across as impulsive and uncaring, especially if she decides to go out and you wanted a nice and quiet night in. Geminis can also be indecisive, especially in the beginning stages of a relationship or where to book that next Airbnb — can’t we stay in all these places!? — but that’s Gemini’s strong intellect reigning in her spontaneous tendencies.
If a Gemini woman gets an idea in her head, lookout. She may break plans, come off as cold or harsh or even emotionally distant, but that’s more a measure of her focus than her real feelings. Sometimes you’ve got to shut the world out to finish that nagging project or plan a quick getaway with the gals, or maybe she just needed some me time. Don’t rush to judge. Let her take care of whatever it is, and things will be back to normal before you know it.
Because of their intelligence and their outgoing attitude, Gemini women are sometimes seen as manipulative, disruptive and even inciting drama or friction within groups. However, this is usually the result of misunderstanding the Gemini female’s mindset.
If you’ve just had an argument and it seems that she’s already moved on because she’s on the dance floor and you’re pouting in the booth, know that she’s likely trying to take her mind off the conflict by getting some space, and why not have some fun in the meantime.
About the Gemini Woman
While most signs have dominant and recessive traits, the Gemini female personality can be confusing if you take it at face value. One moment, they can be distant, and the next, your best friend. But that’s only because they’re living one moment to the next. Let her have her fun, and the next time you need some support she’ll be there with all her enthusiastic energy and vibrancy, just don’t ask her to help clear out your closet or help you move — she might find something more exciting and leave the packing to you. She’ll be better at planning your next trip or night out anyway, so play to her strengths.
If you’d like to learn more about the Gemini sign, including the Gemini daily horoscope and the Gemini love horoscope, Astrology Answers is here to help you understand this often misunderstood sign.

On August 21st, Venus moves into the Earth sign of Virgo and the Sun will follow right afterward on August 23rd.
Venus is the planet linked to Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty, and she influences our artistic sense as well. When this planet moves into the only sign of the zodiac whose symbol is an actual human, and a maiden at that, we can expect some feminine vibes to enter our consciousness. However, just as all planetary movements have a good and not so good energy, you might become a perfectionist in your love life so read our tips about how to use this transit without nagging your special someone about all the flaws you might be seeing under this love microscope.
First of all, you can relax and know this is only going to last until September 15th when the planet of love will enter Libra and things will feel bubbly and joyful again. Also, this is not at all a negative transit when you know how to use the energy to improve your own behavior in your relationships instead of trying to change your partner. Read our tips so you don’t become a negative Nancy and convince yourself your relationship is beyond repair.
5 Ways to Use Venus in Virgo to Improve Your Relationship:
Make a List of Things You Love About Your Partner
In order to channel the detailed-oriented nature of Virgo, it’s a perfect time to make an extensive list of all the little and big things that you adore about your partner. This is a great way to focus on the positive and help you see even more things you like about them that you didn’t notice before. This will also override the Virgo tendency to look for problems. Look through a lens of love, not scrutiny.
Make a List of Things You & Your Partner Can Enjoy Together
To channel your need to plan your entire life (which is such a Virgo tendency), you can harness that energy into coming up with some fun day trips, date ideas, and even fun intricate recipes to make together at home. This will over-ride the Virgo anxiety about an uncertain future which if left untamed could make you overreact if you don’t know where the relationship is going or when the relationship will move into something more serious. Instead of forcing your partner into changes you want, focus on planning fun things that will bring positive energy into your relationship right now.
Spend Time Making Your Home Welcoming & Romantic
Virgo loves to clean and organize, so take this opportunity to add some nice touches to your home to boost the romantic vibes. Maybe add some new curtains, pillow covers, or candles to set the mood. Change out harsh lighting with soft bulbs that create a romantic ambiance, and make the place smell good so you actually want to spend time there. This will help override your need to get on your partner’s case about not being perfectly clean or bug them about unfinished home projects. Take the initiative to make your home fun by adding positive energy to the space.
Be Willing To Apologize & Take Responsibility For Your Feelings
Every time you want to blame your partner for the way you’re feeling, take a deep breath, and decide to take responsibility for your reactions. When you practice shifting your reactions from negative to positive, you become truly empowered in your relationship and you add positive energy to it instead of negative energy. Focus your energy on the moment right before you react and spew out something negative and just wait and find something loving to say. Hold the intention that you want your partner to feel heard and loved when your blood is starting to boil and it will change the way you react. If you aren’t perfect at this, be willing to say ‘I’m sorry’ right away so that they can feel you’re trying and that you care.
Build Your Partner Up
Because Virgo can be hypercritical as a problem-fixer, you want to override that urge to pick your partner apart by consciously building them up. Spend time focusing on the positive traits in their birth chart if you want or look at the list of things you like about them and commit to complementing the things they do so well. Remember the saying, “if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.” If you guard your words and choose to just lovingly gaze at them with a goofy smile or tell an impromptu joke instead of saying something negative, you will feel much better during this transit, and your relationship will come out better on the other side.

It can be fun and very insightful to compare your compatibility using the different astrological systems. The Chinese Zodiac is divided into 12 animals and 5 elements (Western astrology only includes four elements). It’s exciting to test your compatibility with different systems because you can see the common themes in systems that have developed in separate areas of the world. In many ways, it’s reassuring that there is something very affirming about astrology and that regardless of which one you use, it can be very helpful!
There are actually quite a lot of layers of compatibility within the Chinese Zodiac system. The year you were born and the year your partner was born tells a lot about compatibility. Generally, someone born three years ahead or behind you is not compatible while those that are four years apart are considered to be compatible. To understand why this is the case, we can look at the cycles with Chinese Astrology.
There are 12-year cycles of animals and there are five-year cycles of elements. Additionally, each year will alternate between Yin or Yang.
Before you give up on trying to figure this out, you can start by looking to see which animal you are and which animals you get along with.
- Rat: 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008, 2020
- Ox: 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009, 2021
- Tiger: 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998, 2010, 2022
- Rabbit: 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011, 2023
- Dragon: 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012, 2024
- Snake: 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001, 2013, 2025
- Horse: 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2004, 2014, 2026
- Goat: 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003, 2015, 2027
- Monkey: 1944, 1956, 1968, 1992, 2004, 2016
- Rooster: 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005, 2017
- Dog: 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006, 2018
- Pig: 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007, 2019
Best Matches for Each Chinese Zodiac Sign:
There is another grouping that is based on the similar characteristics of animals. The animals are divided into four groups based on traits that mesh well together.
- The first group has Rat, Dragon, and Monkey.
- The second group has Ox, Snake, and Rooster.
- The third group has Tiger, Horse, and Dog.
- The final fourth group has Rabbit, Sheep, and Pig.
Compatibility Based On Elements
Element compatibility has more than one layer. Each year is linked to an element and each sign has a dominant element. This can help explain why people born three years apart are less compatible while people born four years apart are more compatible.
It’s not an exact science but gives you more layers of a person’s personality so that you can see why not all people with the same animal sign are the same.
For example, a Tiger person born in 1986 has the element of wood as a Tiger and they are a Fire Tiger because it was a Fire Tiger year.
- Metal signs: Monkey and Rooster.
- Wood signs: Tiger and Rabbit.
- Water signs: Rat and Pig.
- Fire signs: Snake and Horse.
- Earth signs: Ox, Dragon, Sheep, and Dog.
There are two compatibility characteristics based on the elements in Chinese Astrology and these are either ‘overcoming/destroying’ or ‘generating/creating.’ You can understand the dynamics between two people based on these two categories. See which one you and people you’re are close with fit into, even if you’re not in a romantic relationship.
- Metal chops Wood.
- Water extinguishes Fire.
- Fire melts Metal.
- Earth absorbs Water.
- Wood splits Earth.
- Earth holds Metal.
- Metal holds Water.
- Fire creates Earth.
- Wood fuels Fire.
- Water grows Wood.
Compatibility Based on Yin & Yang
The polarities of Yin and Yang are everywhere in nature. Hot and cold, loud and quiet, anxious and calm or masculine and feminine. Essentially the Yin energy is considered to be receptive, intuitive, and feminine while the Yang energy is considered to be giving, logical, and masculine.
- The Yang signs: Monkey, Tiger, Rat, Horse, Dragon, and Dog.
- The Yin signs: Rooster, Rabbit, Pig, Snake, Ox, and Sheep.
The polarities mean that the opposite sign will help support your energy and help you generate energy. It’s the constant push and pull between the two energies that help one grow and develop. While this is not the main determining factor of compatibility it does help to explain the common notion that ‘opposites attract’ because someone of the opposite polarity can help you feel more balanced. This same concept is used in Western astrology. Read more about the masculine and feminine in astrology to understand your own polarity and your partner’s in more depth based on your birth charts.

Just as in Western astrology, there is a lot of layers to compatibility and it can help you find better ways to understand all the people in your life and hopefully, yourself. If you approach compatibility as a map to get along with everyone by seeing how your energies interact, you can use it to improve your interpersonal skills. You can also have a lot of fun guessing someone’s element or animal. However, it’s important not to throw out a relationship just because you’re not listed as compatible but instead use the system to see where you can find common ground and appreciate each other’s uniqueness. Use the information to inform you but know that you can work to overcome the odds with compassion and mutual respect. Alternately, just because two animals are listed as a match, doesn’t always mean it’s ‘meant to be.’

One final note is that the Chinese Zodiac year starts at the first New Moon between January 21st to February 20th. So if you’re born in January and February, you’ll need to do some digging to ascertain which animal you are for sure!

Do you worry when everybody’s forks don’t match at the family dinner table? Are you apologizing for nothing, over and over again? Do you pace and emblazon a three-foot path in any carpet nearby when you’re waiting for a phone call, a delivery, or a human? Do you call yourself the “Monica” of your “Friends” gang? Do you need the dishes (or whatever) done and put away before you can get a good night’s sleep?
Do you say yes to everything and everyone because you don’t want to upset them? Do you feel overwhelmed when you do?
If any of these things feel all too familiar, congratulations, you have Virgo anxiety. The little things bother you. But they don’t need to. And you can feel Virgo healthy spiritually, mentally, and physically, when you learn how to cope with these little things that keep you up at night.
The Good, the Bad & the Ugly of Virgo Anxiety
Simply put, Virgo anxiety just means that you have generalized anxiety over every little thing. This is not a clinical diagnosis, by the way, that is not our specialty. If you feel like you have anxiety or any stress-related problem that is a little above and beyond Virgo anxiety, talk to your health professional about it. Taking care of that is part of balancing your mind/body/soul connection and is mission-critical to optimal health.
But don’t freak out about your anxiety, either. It’s literally the last thing you need. Instead, focus on embracing it and honoring the experiences that brought that to you, and letting it go. Helping you identify what that is so that you can release that stress, is what we are going to focus on today.
The Mutable Earth sign Virgo is known as the worrywart of the zodiac. So let’s start with the ugly on that, rip that Band-Aid off, and work our way up to the positive. Then we will talk about tips on how to deal with this so you aren’t sweating every time your pencil isn’t sharp enough. Yes, that really happens.
That’s a marker of the infamous Virgo anxiety. You worry about the little things when everyone around you is saying, “Don’t worry about it! Nobody even noticed!”
But Virgo does worry about every little thing because Virgo is known for their impeccable high standards and values. The word “Virgo” comes from the word “Virgin” which is the archetype that Virgo is derived from – ultimate purity and service.
So the reason that Virgo worries about forks and tablecloths and specks of dirt that nobody else notices is because of their standards and values. They really do want everything to be “just perfect.” All the time.
Telling Virgo not to worry or pace will be an exercise in futility. The ugly of Virgo anxiety is that not addressing this can lead to other problems such as ulcers, more prolonged anxiety, and a host of other problems from migraines to insomnia, and many others. When Virgos need to find ways to cope with this anxiety, the ugly side of it can lead to the exact opposite of what they are looking for. Instead of maintaining ultimate order and precise detail, their lives are ultimate chaos. The life of Charlie Sheen is an example of just how ugly Virgo anxiety can get.
Feeling like you are on pins and needles all the time, or often, over minor things, is Virgo anxiety.
Feeling chaotic? Blame Uranus. How to Deal: Uranus Retrograde – Free Yourself from Chaos With One Simple Rule
The ugly part of it all is that you could experience further health problems and it impacts your life considerably. The bad part of it is that you have stress more often than you should and it’s not yet impacting your life, but does have you worrying more than you should. Is there a good part of Virgo anxiety?
Yes. Virgos get it done. Where other signs like Cardinal signs start big things really well, but never finish them, Virgo picks up the pieces and gets the job done. And, usually better than a Cardinal sign would have done.
The upside to Virgos is they are hard workers. They see that stress and kick it up a notch to just take care of business so they can relieve that stress. Maybe you aren’t quite there yet, but you will be. As Mutable signs, Virgos can juggle a lot. They prefer it. They get itchy when they don’t have an overextended plate and they worry about getting it done when they are overextended.
But their realness, their relatability, they productivity, their compassion, and their “yes” man quality, are the exact reasons they are asked to take on so much. Because they can do it and will fret about it until it’s done.
So don’t freak out if you have Virgo anxiety. Use it like a Virgo. Here’s how.
6 Easy Tips to Make Virgo Anxiety Work in Your Favour
Virgos perform like rock stars and that’s usually why they are so successful. And sometimes they are actual rock stars. Like Michael Jackson. And like Beyonce. She even has a song called “Gift From Virgo” and is considered one of the wealthiest and most influential women in the world. She knows how to channel that Virgo anxiety into Virgo power.
Here’s how you can too, whether you are channeling it locally, at home, or across the planet. Because Virgo rules the sixth house, 6 is Virgo’s number. Start activating these 6 tips to beat Virgo anxiety now.
1. It’s okay to say no sometimes.
Don’t be afraid to say no. To anyone. For anything. You won’t hurt their feelings if you say, “Listen that sounds great and I’d love to help but right now my calendar is just too packed to fit anything else in right now.” Just say no. Everything you say yes to is just one more thing you are going to stress about later.
2. Develop an inner circle.
One thing that kind and compassionate and giving people do is say yes too many times. And that makes them prey. If you have Virgo anxiety you want to people please, and there’s nothing wrong with living to make each other happy. That’s what makes you kind and compassionate, and the thing that makes you kind and giving is also the thing that causes you the most stress. Develop an inner circle of people that you can trust the most. Kind people are taken advantage of first. Because your boundaries are a little farther than firm people. Keep people around you that can help you back away from prey, and also will be your soft place to fall. Knowing you have that soft place to fall will make it easier for you to wrap your head around any minor mistakes you may make. Think Beyonce is doing this alone? Think again. Nobody is. Develop your inners and thank them.
3. Engage self-care.
Virgos are fastidiously healthy and clean, and motivated to do it. If you worry a lot, it’s time to get obsessive about taking care of you. Make one of your famous lists and schedule 15 minutes a day that is just yours. Aromatherapy is a powerful and very easy self-care tool to implement. And it smells just Divine. Once you start you won’t want to stop. Even something like an aromatherapy necklace that you have on all day can be a very useful tool to take the edge off of anxiety, all day long. Use your new self-care routine for whatever you want to use it for. Just so long as it is all about you.
4. Talk things through in your head.
When you start to worry about something, walk it through. If this bad thing happens, then what? Then what happens? Then what happens? The more you do that, the more you will realize how silly some of your obsessive worries are. So what if your guests notice you don’t have matching forks? What happens then? Will the roof fall in? No. No it won’t. Nothing bad will happen if the different fork is noticed. Or if anything else happens that you are worrying about. And if something bad does happen, then what? Then you’ll make a plan and figure it out. Talk your worries out instead of pacing up and down and sweating it out.
5. Ask for help and delegate.
If you have Virgo anxiety then you have Virgo anxiety because you wouldn’t stoop to asking for help. But you would feel productive if you delegated. So instead of worrying about every little thing that needs to get done before bedtime, delegate what you can and schedule everything else in a palatable fashion that makes you feel productive, because you are productive.
6. Stop apologizing.
Virgo is known for being real. But being a people-pleaser is what gets them into a lot of anxiety scrapes. Then they apologize. You probably apologize because you think you passed someone the wrong way when you went by them on the stairs, or elevator, or anywhere. Just stop apologizing. And don’t be sorry for being sorry. And don’t worry about being sorry, which is only adding more worries. Next time you go to say sorry to someone, check yourself and walk it through in your head. No. It’s not wrong to pass someone like that in the grocery store unless you intentionally did something wrong or inappropriate, which you probably didn’t.
One Last Thing…
When it comes to Virgo anxiety, you are your own worst enemy. You are this way because you have high standards, even of yourself. And if you don’t meet them, you feel minimized. Then you get needy or jealous or stressed and that only causes more anxiety. Stop that. Congratulate yourself for recognizing this. Now, move on from it.
Talk it through. Lean on your inners. Make sure you have self-care scheduled, every single day. Self-care is health care. And it’s also wealth-care. Just ask Beyonce. The more you engage that self-talk in your head and walk things through, the more it will become a habit and the less stress you will feel.
Keep your Free Daily Tarot reading on standby so you get a picture of what is ahead day by day, and with that forecast, you have one less thing to worry about. A daily numerology reading can add a different level of spirituality to the mix to keep your mood zen all day and every day.
The more you do that, the closer you are to channeling that worry into something wonderful, like Beyonce. You don’t want the anxiety of life to overcome you as it did to Charlie Sheen. Instead, do your thang, Bey.

Who doesn’t want wealth? We all want it. But wanting it and getting it are two different things, as we all know.
You may have heard the word “manifest” being used a little more in everyday life. That’s because it’s an important word that successful people use. When you “manifest” something you are in control of your destiny. Sometimes something “manifests” simply because you set the intention to wish for it. Ever hear the expression “be careful what you wish for”? Of course you have. But if you are channeling the right traits of Virgo, which will be prominent for all zodiac signs when the Sun enters Virgo, then you too can manifest the wealth that Virgos are known for.
Who doesn’t want that? When it comes to money, all you need to do is follow this 9-point checklist when Sun enters the mutable sign of the Earth sign Virgo and you’ll be manifesting renewable resources in no time. Sun enters Virgo from August 23 to September 22 this year.
Here’s how to win like a Virgo, every time.
Your Sun in Virgo Manifest Abundance Checklist
Famous Virgos include renowned horror author Stephen King, Sophia Loren, and of course, Mother Teresa. All of them, including Mother Teresa, had the empire in the world that they did because they knew how to manifest renewable resources. That’s literally what wealth and abundance are, the multiplication of love or wealth.
1. Look at money the right way.
Money is a renewable resource. It is the renewable resource that is the subject of this article. Think of it like water. Water recycles. You don’t need to be a scientist to know that water takes on many forms, and then becomes another form. It is found in humidity, steam, the ocean, snow, glaciers, and in your own home freezer in many forms. Once it vaporizes it finds a new temperature and becomes something else. It is a renewable resource, it just takes on many forms.
Money is the same. When you get stuck in a money problem, look at money as if it is a renewable resource. You just need to find the solution that manifests the renewable resource you are looking for. For that, you need a plan. Never worry about money the same way again when you look at it like a renewable resource, the way wealthy people do. Need money? Have a plan. Want more money? Well, your plan is going to need to be bigger then.
Here’s how you do it.
2. Have high standards.
Mother Teresa is infamous, and wealthy, because of her impeccably high standards. Have high standards, and stick to them. You want the best. So make that your end game. Set the intentions. Put it into your goals to have the best. See it, plan it, do it. First, you have to choose to have the best and be the best. Mother Teresa won the Nobel Peace Prize which was worth 1 million dollars and became beatified by the Catholic Church in 2003. That is one step towards sainthood. She didn’t get there with low standards. If you want the whole loaf, ask for it. Set the intentions.
3. Don’t dream of wealth, dream of lighting your passion on fire.
You may have heard me say this before, a big bag of money isn’t coming to your door. No psychic or astrologer worth their salt is going to tell you that they know how to tell you to win the lottery. Don’t dream of seeing renewable resources manifesting. Dream of finding that thing you love to do, and lighting that passion on fire, the good way.
Not sure what you are passionate about? That’s okay. That’s called being human. Use this free numerology reading to discover your hidden passion number as one clue.

4. Have a method to your madness.
One of the most admirable traits of Virgo is that they are methodical. They have a plan for everything. No matter what high standards you have or what goals you are dreaming about, dreaming isn’t enough. Create a method to your madness. Be as detailed as you need to be. The more detail the better.
Don’t just dream about saving the world from hunger, for example.
5. Quitters don’t win.
You aren’t going to win the lottery if you don’t buy a ticket, so why are you dreaming about winning the lottery if you haven’t bought a ticket? Quitters don’t win. If you start something, finish it. Don’t start it, give up on it, and then hope that money is arriving at your door. We all do it. We put half the effort in and call it a day and then hope it pays off. It usually doesn’t. Have a follow-through rate.
6. Stand by you.
You have to Self-advocate on occasion to win. Virgos are notoriously shy but they also will not back down from a position if it will help them to manifest wealth or abundance of any kind. Queen Elizabeth the First never married which made her one of the purest Queens of England, and also in the world. And it was a good thing she didn’t, or she would have lost her power and position in the world. And that had nothing to do with money.
It had everything to do with her Self-advocating for the prime position in her life. She likely had relationships. But sacrificed that for her high standards. You can have it all, but sometimes you can’t. Self-advocate when you really believe that you, your product, or your talent is what it is, and you may just manifest exactly what you are dreaming about.
7. Have a plan. Every day. Stick to it.
As Mutable signs, Virgos get distracted very easily. You may too whether you are Mutable or not. Every single day, make a plan for yourself. First, plan your entire vision and goal to the meticulous detail. What it is. How you are getting it. Exactly.
Then have a plan every day. Either plan it the night before or when you get up in the morning and hit the ground running. Each day plan should be a piece of your overall plan. Stick to it. And repeat. The results will amaze you.
8. Be responsible and reliable.
You renew more money resources in your life when you are responsible and reliable. Some people don’t like hearing that. But it’s the truth. Pay your bills. Watch your credit score. Fix what needs to get fixed. Have a plan for each of those steps.
When you do that, you will start to see some things change. You’ll have fewer bills, and the ones you do have will be manageable. Then you’ll be eligible for more credit. Then you could get a business loan, or a company investor. Or maybe just a nicer house for your family, which is your only dream. And that’s okay.
When you are responsible and reliable, you worry less about money. And it becomes easier to renew this resource. It’s easier to develop this plan when the Sun is in Virgo. Summer fun and summer plans are now memories as Fall dawns upon us in a matter of weeks. Details matter and you feel more ready to take this plan seriously to harvest something wonderful this year, and in the years that follow.
9. Be committed to you.
It’s okay to put you first. You need to be committed to your success plan or you just aren’t going to finish it up. When the Sun enters Virgo, details mean everything. And one of those details needs to be your commitment to the plan. This time, it’s okay to put you first. When you do that, you win, and everybody you care about does too.
One Last Thing…
When it comes to manifesting wealth, we all want that magical superpower. But the truth is, and some zodiac signs won’t like this, it is going to take some good old fashioned work to get there. This 9-step list is your starter kit to creating the wealth in your world that you want to create.
See it. Plan it. Do it. Don’t be afraid to use tools along the way. Your Daily Horoscopes will help. You also want to ask your free Tarot Career Reading what steps you need to take to manifest the renewable resource of money. When you look at your finances this way, the stress goes away, and the inspiration begins. Be committed to your success, and put you first for these ones. How do you solve this money problem? Create a small plan for that, and a larger plan to manifest more of this renewable resource. When you win, everybody wins.
How do you want to manifest your own renewable resources?

Ah, your dream partner, your twin flame, your one true love. The one we fantasize over, yearn for and dream of. Where are they? Why have they not yet appeared? When will they appear? Will they appear?
So many questions, so little time – at least, that’s how many of us think. In reality, there may be more time than we realize! And while the Tarot cards can’t whip the dream partner out of thin air, what they can do is provide a little more insight into where they may be, who they may be and when they might pop up.
It’s also worth remembering that the dream partner of the fantasy may not quite be the dream partner in reality. One may envision a Christian-Grey-esque type of man and instead end up with a lovely, cuddly Ricky Gervais. Only the Universe knows who our happy match may be, and luckily Tarot has a great way of tapping into the universe. You might not get an exact name, age, height and profession, but you might just get a general idea. which can help you keep a look-out!
So, read on to find out how Tarot can help you find your dream partner!
The Court Cards
A long time ago, before we had such a thing as planes, trains and cars, people mostly existed in little villages of about three hundred people where everyone knew each other. This meant that if you went to the local Tarot reader and asked who you would end up marrying, and they pulled the Page of Wands which represented a young man in his 20’s, quite artistic and with sandy blonde hair, you were usually able to whittle your options down to about five people.
Pretty handy, of course, but times have changed and the traditional physical descriptions of the court cards have changed with them. Population increase and the evolution of multiculturalism have likewise meant that the original physical descriptions no longer apply in the same way they did before, and more emphasis is placed on the characteristics of the cards. Similarly, despite being kings, queens, knights and pages, court cards tend to be genderless unless you ask about a specific person or about gender in general. Pull a Page of Wands today and you may have about a million people to choose from!
But in conjunction with other cards and with the right type of Tarot spread, it can certainly be possible to gain greater insight into who your dream partner is!

A Tarot Spread to Find Your Dream Partner
This simple spread can be a pretty nifty way of finding more out about your dream partner. Concentrate first on the question:
What is my dream partner like?
Shuffle the cards and then lay them out, with one card for each of the following pointers:
- Within the three-month time scale?
The seventh card relates to when you may meet this person. Many readers believe it is not good to try and predict after three months as the future is so subject to change. It is up to you whether you choose to include the seventh card or not, or whether you choose to modify it to suit your own desired time-frame. The seventh card interpretation is also strongly based on intuition.
So, as an example, let’s say I shuffled out that exact spread and received the following cards:
Here is how I would interpret these cards:
The Empress: This is someone quite classically beautiful, regardless of their gender. Quite curvaceous or has excellent fashion sense. This person has a general positive aura and makes people feel good being in their company. They may come across as quite motherly and nurturing. May be soft-spoken.
The Hermit: This is someone who likes to spend quality alone time and may even go quiet for days on end. This is a thoughtful person and quite a deep thinker. Likely an introvert. They value time alone as they spend a lot of time in introspection.
9 of Pentacles: This person appears to be quite successful in their line of work, possibly in a managerial or CEO position. This person seems to be financially stable and also enjoys the finer things in life.
6 of Cups: This could point to a person I knew from my past! It could also point to someone who might have a significant age gap with me. With location, also pay attention to the background in the card which could give some clue.
Queen of Wands: This person may be a bubbly, outgoing and sociable person. Notice how this is quite opposite to the Hermit, which reflects their personality. To the world, this person may be very Queen-of-Wands-ish – confident, boisterous and highly extroverted. But their true nature may be more Hermit-like. This person is also likely quite sexy!
Knight of Swords: This person may be quite opinionated and let their temper get the better of them. Their words can be cutting and they may use words to hurt people. This person may be quite vengeful and likes to get their own way.
5 of Cups: It looks like a clear disappointed no here! It doesn’t seem I’ll meet this person within the next three months. Tarot cards can be interpreted as yes or no answers, but again this is also strongly linked to your intuition when reading.
So what have I gathered from all this?
It seems my dream partner may be quite successful in their career, very bubbly and outgoing on the outside, but quite introverted and shy deep down and spends a lot of time thinking. This seems to be quite a cerebral person and I would imagine they like exploring new topics and having lengthy discussions, as indicated by the Knight of Swords; though they can be quite brash and opinionated, they can also be charming and lovable like the Queen of Wands. This person will be very attractive to me.
Your True Love is in the Cards…
The Tarot can certainly be a handy and fun way of finding out more about your dream partner. But remember, Tarot is a guide – nothing is set in stone. If you do a reading about your dream partner and gain a specific idea of what they are like, but so happen to come across someone who seems wonderful, clever, funny, caring and loyal all in one and yet they don’t seem like the dream partner from your reading, then don’t restrict yourself simply because your reading said one thing and your experience says another! Go with your gut and instinct – always.
And if you do happen to meet your dream partner from the Tarot, then it will certainly make for interesting discussion with your other half on your wedding day when they discover that you – in the words of Savage Garden – truly did “love them before you met them!”

Four months of each year, we experience Jupiter retrograde, and luck comes to a bit of a standstill. Lucky for you, August 11th marks the end of this year’s Jupiter retrograde, which began April 10th, as the planet of luck and expansion now goes direct in the Fire sign of Sagittarius.
Due to the adventurous nature of Sagittarius, we will be ready to leap into new ventures in our careers, to seize the day, and make the most of the free-spirited energy in the air. You may have new opportunities that involve risks (ones you finally feel ready to take) arriving on your doorstep, or you may find yourself suddenly thinking of new ideas that seem to come out of nowhere.
Think about how you may have felt stalled in the money sector during the Jupiter retrograde 2019 period and get ready for that stalemate to be shot out of the atmosphere. We are finally starting to see the end of a wacky period of so many planets being in retrograde (Jupiter, Mercury, Chiron, Saturn, Pluto, Uranus, and Neptune) as Mercury has also gone direct and will officially be out of the post-shadow period on August 15th.
If the last paragraph sounded like Greek to you, don’t despair. You don’t have to speak astrology to get something valuable from this article today. First, let’s look at some questions we must answer to understand how a planet stationing direct changes the cosmic energetic landscape.
The two questions we need to answer are: how do planets in retrograde affect us, and what area of life does the planet Jupiter affect?
How Jupiter Retrograde Affected Your Life
We have spent four months in a time of reflection of the past when it comes to our success. When a planet is retrograde, we don’t expect things to move forward in the area of life that it traditionally effects. Jupiter, being the planet of fortune, expansion, and luck, is a planet that dictates a lot of the way in which we manifest new opportunities. We have likely spent the last month learning about how we have done things in the past in relation to our own expansion and that has allowed us to see where our own fears or actions may have blocked us in the past from being luckier.
During a retrograde, we glean the lessons from our past because our mind is more focused on the patterns that we have been playing out in our lives. We learn from those patterns and cut loose from the attitudes that don’t help us attract more success. While a retrograde may test our patience because it feels like we aren’t moving forward, in many ways, it’s a necessary step to be able to move forward when the planet stations direct.
We often are confronted with situations or people that remind us of moments in our past that we can learn from. Think about which memories have been playing in your mind from your past lately and how they are revealing secrets that will allow you to be more successful in the future. Jupiter retrograde was a time of internal inventory to see how we have been blocking success because of a bad attitude or negative expectations. Now that we are free of those bad vibes we have been carrying, it’s time to expand!
How Jupiter Going Direct Changes Things
And now for the fun part. We already know that Jupiter affects our luck and fortune, so how does it behave in the sign of Sagittarius? Well, what we know about Sagittarius is that it is known as the sign of the evolved soul. Sagittarius has a philosophical energy that wants to help society become better. People born under this sign seek to understand the world through adventure and exposure to new people, places, and ideas. Sagittarius is brave, loves travel, and always pushes the limits.
Now, as we mix the energy of Jupiter going direct with this wild fiery energy of Sagittarius, what we get is the need to speak directly about our dreams and visions for the future. Since Jupiter is actually Sagittarius’ ruling planet, this is an extra lucky placement. We are ready to set our aim on the dreams we didn’t dare to dream before and we are willing to do what it takes to get there. Oh, and don’t worry, the Sun in confident Leo right now is also going to lend extra support to all of your endeavors.
One way to capture this energy is to use the Tarot to get clear with your path. We have a Free 3-Card Career Reading that can help you tap into your intuition and set your sights high. The Sun is currently in the sign of Leo, giving us even more reason to celebrate this beloved, fiery sign. And what better way to honor the confident Leo than to take a look at the dazzling relationship between Leo’s fire and the magical world of Tarot?
Tarot and astrology are brilliant metaphysical tools on their own; but when used together, they can work to uncover deeper meaning in many areas of our lives — highlighting our strengths and helping us overcome our weaknesses.
For instance, each sign of the zodiac is associated with and ruled by a card from the Major Arcana — the first 22 cards of a Tarot deck. There are also correlations within the remaining 56 cards, called the Minor Arcana. Exploring the relationship between Leo and the corresponding Tarot cards will show you more about your sign and give new meaning to every reading.
Traits of Leo
Leos are a Fire sign ruled by the Sun, the planet of the self — the higher self, one’s purpose, or ego. Your personality is charming, even magnetic, and you naturally draw people toward you. You are very honest, although your honesty can come across as too blunt at times.
Leos are generous and friendly, and they love to be in the spotlight. The passion of a Leo is boundless, and it can sometimes lead to volatile emotions or outbursts. Leos are represented by the lion, a symbol of bravery.
Leo in the Major Arcana: Strength
Strength is traditionally the 8th card of the Major Arcana, corresponding to the month of August when the Sun is in Leo. This card rules over and represents the energetic Leo, and its artwork typically features a woman stroking or standing next to a lion, the symbol of Leo. In one of the most well-known decks, the Rider-Waite Tarot, the beautiful woman is seen calmly holding the lion by his intimidating, yet relaxed jaws.
Though the lion may be fierce, the woman’s calm demeanor has tamed the aggression within the lion. She controls the otherwise dangerous lion with her serene, graceful nature and with love. In astrology, Leo rules the heart, as evidenced by the loving relationship between the woman and her ferocious friend.
The lion represents the passionate nature of the Leo—the emotions of courage and desire, and the need for human connection. When these needs are not met, or when feelings like desire become overwhelming, the destructive nature of the lion will manifest.
The woman in the card represents the self-love and self-acceptance that is necessary to keep destructive behavior patterns in check. She feeds the lion’s passionate disposition with the love needed to maintain an equilibrium between passion and anger.
This card symbolizes the importance of self-love for Leo. If you do not practice acceptance of and gratitude for who you are, you will find yourself feeling out-of-place in the world. While most everyone seeks some kind of external validation, it is impossible to appreciate the love flowing toward us if we do not have that love for ourselves living within us.
This card is also a reminder of the immense internal strength you possess to face challenges head-on. It refers to your resilience and ability to carry on.

Leo in the Minor Arcana: 6 of Wands
The 6 of Wands is associated with Jupiter in Leo and represents the beautiful marriage between Jupiter’s expansive nature and Leo’s fiery, confident essence. This card indicates victory or public acclaim of some sort and correlates with Leo’s love for the spotlight. There is an air of optimism within this card that perfectly matches the positive, buoyant personality of the Leo.
Conversely, the shadow side of Jupiter in Leo can lead to arrogance or egotism — traits that must be avoided if victory is to be gained fairly.
In the Rider-Waite depiction of this card, a regal man rides atop a white horse — a crown of victory resting upon the man’s head. There is a crowd gathered around him, showing their support and cheering him on. The man enjoys, even adores, the attention — and he is carrying a wreath-decorated wand which further speaks to his accomplishments.
This card represents the public acclaim you may achieve if you can keep the ego uninvolved and play fairly. This card may also indicate that you have acquired the skills needed to highlight your talents and strengths without such distractions.
If you can learn to keep the ego reined in, you will be able to achieve your goals and receive public acknowledgment for them.
If you happen to draw these cards during a reading, this information can help you better understand how the card might be speaking to you. While the cards and corresponding guidebooks of the Tarot contain a multitude of useful information, understanding the relationship between astrology and Tarot can bring out even more meaning from each card.

Yin and Yang are terms that many people have undoubtedly heard before, but how many of us know their true meaning or what these two words mean?
What is the Philosophy of Yin & Yang?
In a nutshell, Yin and Yang is the belief that all things contradict one another and yet they cannot exist without each other.
We see this every day in its most basic form: Day (Yang) and Night (Yin), or Masculine (Yang) and Feminine (Yin).
The two may be very different and yet they need each other in order for everything to harmonize and achieve balance. Take Day and Night – if there was no Day, how would the planet survive without the sunlight that appears during Day? If there was no Night, how would the world survive without a break from the blazing sun?
Some other examples of Yin and Yang are:
- Yang: White, light, south, fire, active, heaven.
- Yin: Black, dark, north, water, receptive, earth.
When it comes to Good and Evil, we would say that Yang is Good (harmony) and Yin is Evil (disharmony). But Good and Evil are not as easily defined as, for example, Night and Day, because so much subjectivity come with them, stemming from what we like and dislike, what we fear and don’t fear.
Take a tourist who wants only Sun and a farmer who wants both Sun and rain. One is not necessarily evil, but evil may be created because of this lack of conflict. Furthermore, Taoists (from which Yin and Yang originated from) believe that all evil stems from imbalance.
If you look at the symbol of Yin and Yang (which look like two little curled tadpoles) you will see that one is white with a black dot inside it and the other is black with a white dot inside it. This represents the fundamental message of Yin and Yang: that in order for us to live in a state of equilibrium, we must find a way to live with peace and harmony, free from aggression or fear. By doing so in our own individual personal lives and by reconciling our own fears and negative thinking, we can then project this same harmony into the world, which is ultimately what Yin and Yang is striving for.
The important thing to remember about Yin and Yang is that neither are absolute or mutually exclusive – they depend on one another. A world without either of them is a world that would cease to exist. Swiss psychiatrist, Carl Jung, summed it up very well when he said:
Yin & Yang in Chinese Astrology
Yin and Yang is the basis of Taoism and a guiding principle in Chinese philosophy. Its roots go very deep, therefore, in areas of Ancient China, such as Feng Shui, medicine and Chinese Astrology.
All of the animals of the Chinese Zodiac are represented by Yin or Yang. This does not mean that any one animal is better than the other; it only means that six of them encompass qualities and energies that are Yang-related and six encompass energies that are Yin related – achieving perfect balance within the Zodiac. The list of Yin and Yang animals is below:
Yang Chinese Zodiac Animals:
Yin Chinese Zodiac Animals:
So, what makes some of these animals Yin and others Yang?
Let’s look at the Dragon. The Dragon represents the masculine, boldness and extroversion. Its dynamic spirit and powerful wings mean it spends a lot of time flying high in the sky, searching for lands to conquer and places to rule. (Not to say all Dragon people behave like this, of course! But this is the basic fundamental energy of the Dragon native.)
Now let’s look at the Tiger, a Yin sign. The Tiger’s fundamental energy is one of patience and purpose, very similar to how a tiger in a wild must employ great patience when stalking their prey. Outwardly, Tigers are passionate and powerful just like the Dragon, but their internal energies are very different. A Dragon’s deepest energy can be fiery and destructive, while the Tiger’s is steady and grounded; therefore, the Dragon’s energy can be tempered by the Tiger’s energy, hereby creating the perfect balance of Yin and Yang.
Yin & Yang in Western Astrology
In Western Astrology, a similar concept applies. Yin and Yang Western Zodiac signs are listed below:
Yang Zodiac Signs:
Yin Zodiac Signs:
Knowing the Yin and Yang sides of your Western Zodiac sign is a good way to understand compatibility between you, loved ones and potential partners. Strong attractions may arise between Yang signs and Yin signs due to their differences – the differences can make or break. If they make, then the relationship between the two can produce one of the most powerful, steadfast relationships the individual will ever experience.
Yin signs tend to be quieter and more introverted, enjoying the same type of music and activities as other Yin signs. An emotional connection tends to be relatively strong.
Yang signs are usually quite sociable and have many friends. They enjoy the company of other Yang signs due to easy-flowing conversation and like-mindedness in many areas.
Yin and Yang is an ancient concept which has been taught for many centuries and has now spread all across the globe. With the difficulties mankind faces and the further challenges that face us in the modern era, understanding Yin and Yang today is more crucial than ever.
Only by bringing peace and harmony to our own lives can we achieve the much-needed balance that is necessary, both as individuals and in the world as a whole.
