Bringing order to our lives can mean a lot of different things. And in a time when so much about our world feels chaotic and out of control, sometimes it can mean a lot to be able to tackle one particular task, goal, or objective. Or you might be looking to check something off your list and feel satisfied with how you’ve completed it.

But how can you figure out how to approach a challenge when it feels like you don’t know where to start?

If you’re overwhelmed by possibility, if you aren’t sure how to make decisions that will bring you to the place you want to end up, the Tarot can be a great tool for reflection, awareness, and organization. And in giving yourself a chance to step back and assess what it is you really want, you may find a new perspective on how to achieve those goals.

First, you might want to brush up on: The Top 5 Benefits of Tarot Reading

The Relationship Between Virgo & Mercury

We’re currently in the Sun’s season of Virgo, a time of Mutable Earth, of flexibility and adaptation, of wrapping things up.

Mutable signs take the ideas and initiation from Cardinal signs, the focused energy and deliberate work of the Fixed signs, and polish off the details, putting everything together and getting us over that finish line.

Ruled by Mercury, Virgo is often known as a sign of perfectionism, of high standards — but this sign is also thoughtful, astute, deliberate, caring, organized, and reflective. Virgo doesn’t come sweeping in like a high-maintenance diva, demanding that we change everything at the last minute, needing to seize control or strip away power.

Instead, Virgo energy wants our work to be the best it can possibly be, to reflect our greatest intentions and most brilliant ambitions. Virgo wants us to shine – to sparkle, to glow — and when we embrace this steady, thorough, attentive energy, it often becomes a bit easier to clarify our goals and to make plans to reach them.

The Relationship Between Virgo & the Hermit

Virgo is tied to the Hermit in the Major Arcana, a figure of awareness and introspection, who reminds us that stepping out of our regular routines and looking at our desires, fears, ambitions, and skills through a new lens can help us move forward in a more clear, intentional, grounded way.

Spending time alone can calm us, soothe us, remind us of who we are outside of our accomplishments, talents, or perceived value.

This is an archetype that moves at its own pace, that isn’t driven by fear, uncertainty, or anger. Instead, the Hermit is deliberate and methodical, gradually uncovering their own needs and interests, making a plan for every single step forward, and shining their light in a way that brings definition and insight into work, relationships, and ambitions.

It may feel like Virgo and the Hermit wants us to go through every part of ourselves and our work with a fine-toothed comb, identifying even the tiniest flaws and mistakes.

And I would be missing an integral part of this energy if I pretended that there wasn’t a bit of that desire present, a need to find the pieces that don’t work and refine them until everything fits together seamlessly — but that’s not the whole story, not the complete picture.

Virgo wants us to feel sovereign within ourselves, wants us to deliver work and ideas that reflect our fullest, truest selves, wants to be of service in a way that elevates everyone.

Rather than getting caught up in multiple contradictory ideas, rather than twisting ourselves into knots to please other people, Virgo and the Hermit crave authenticity and honesty, clarity of perspective, a deep and lasting sense of truth.

So how can we take this energy and put it into practice?

When you look at that big ambition, that far-off objective, how can you channel the heart of Virgo in a way that gives clear steps, a straightforward process? This new spread can help you harness the authenticity of Virgo, the flexibility of Virgo, the perseverance of Virgo.

What are you ready to pursue? How hard are you willing to work towards your goal?

Bringing Order to Your Life Tarot Spread

Before you begin drawing cards as part of this spread, make sure you have a clear vision of what you are working towards and what you hope to gain from the cards to empower your movements.

A simple, vague idea like “I want to be successful” or “I want to fall in love” holds too much ambiguity — but a goal like “I want to gradually invest more time and energy into my writing so that I can support myself financially within the next two years” makes space for definitive steps forward, which is why I’ll use it in the sample reading below.

What do you envision for your future?

How specific can you be about what you want to accomplish?

In addition to the spread template, you can also explore this sample reading that I’ve put together to help you understand how to utilize this layout.

As always, this is simply an example and is not meant to be reading for anyone or any situation in particular.

Card One: An Insight Into This Goal

The Hanged One

A Major Arcana archetype representing stagnation, sacrifice, and stalling, this card sits in a moment of waiting.

The breathless pause before the permanent shift of Death, the Hanged One (or Hanged Man), is a lack of action, a forced pause, a reluctant break from progress and growth. And while sometimes this provides a shift in perspective that helps us reevaluate the path that we’re on, other times it speaks to a dead end: a goal we’ve been pursuing that is no longer within reach.

In this position, this card could have a variety of meanings. But in looking at the rest of the cards in this reading, particularly the success represented by the 10 of Pentacles, I see the Hanged One as a representation of emotion, fear, or anxiety.

There may be a desire for financial stability, for creative professional life, for security and success. Still, there’s also a lot of worries that this particular dream may not be possible. And in a moment when progress feels stalled, it can be hard to stay optimistic that eventually, movement will begin again.

Yet the Hanged One is not the end of the road — instead, it’s an invitation to consider a new way forward, a new path. How would looking at this goal in a new way create different opportunities?

Card Two: A Potential Obstacle to be Aware of

The Devil

The second and final Major Arcana figure in this reading, the Devil, is traditionally associated with addiction, destructive behaviors, and abuses of power. The simmering tension that comes before the Tower’s destructive chaos, the Devil, urges us to pay attention to control, to limits, to struggles.

  • How much control do we really have over ourselves, our environment, our future?
  • Where is our control slipping, and where are we grasping to it so tightly that other things are slipping through the cracks?
  • How is our control tested, and how do we respond to limits that we ourselves have not set?

As an obstacle, the Devil seems right at home: there will be challenges around all of the things that we can and cannot control when it comes to pursuing this goal. Yet the Devil is not always a card of strict negativity or defeat — instead, this archetype serves as a wake-up call and a warning.

  • How does constraint provide protection, and how might it be limiting progress?
  • How can we find a balance between control and freedom, particularly when pursuing big dreams?
  • When thinking about creative work, inspiration, and security, when is control useful, and when does it hold us back?

Card Three: A Potential Success to Anticipate

10 of Pentacles

A card of stability, legacy, and abundance, the 10 of Pentacles is a card of joyful security and community contentment. Here we see the seed that was planted with the Ace of Pentacles fully grown, bearing fruit, having created a solid foundation for growth and sustainable systems for future prosperity.

In this position of success, the 10 of Pentacles signals satisfaction and happiness, a sense of having more than enough, enabling us to share our bounty with those around us. And while the Hanged One and the Devil indicate that there will be internal challenges to overcome, this card shows that there is still massive potential for triumphant joy.

Card Four: A Detail or Aspect to be Attentive to

Ace of Pentacles

A card that was already hinted at with the 10 of Pentacles, the Ace of this suit of Earth, calls us to begin investing in our own future. Fully grown trees take years to reach those soaring heights, and they begin with a small, single seed — and with this card, we are asked to begin the process of nurturing and caring for a long-term project, dream, or objective.

As a detail to be attentive to, the Ace of Pentacles asks us to be aware of what we are building and to not discount the efforts that we are making now.

  • What could this beginning eventually become?
  • How can we take full advantage of all of the potential at our fingertips?
  • In starting a new creative project that could eventually offer financial stability, how are we honoring our sense of faith in our work?

Card Five: Practical Advice for Your Next Steps Forward

Knight of Wands

The final card in this reading and the only court card to come forward, the Knight of Wands, is an explorer and a daredevil, someone passionate and courageous. Bringing a spirit of adventure and an abundance of ideas to every project and journey, this Knight is dynamic, charismatic, and unafraid to take risks in order to achieve everything they want.

Knights always push us to consider how we are balancing the element they utilize, and this figure of fire wants us to give equal weight to our desires and to our sense of duty.

In particular, this Knight often has a hard time finishing the things that they start, so as a card of practical advice, we’re being urged to settle in for the long haul, to not give up on a creative project even if it doesn’t seem to be contributing to our financial future in a clear and obvious way.

  • How can we focus on our long-term goals even while keeping the present exciting and engrossing?
  • What fresh designs or imaginative insights can we bring to our work?
  • How can collaboration keep things moving forward with power and magic?
  • What sparks our brilliance, and what keeps our creative fires burning?

This reading is generally an encouraging one and offers a lot of practical advice for creating a plan towards a solid financial future.

Pentacles and the suit of the Earth are slow-moving and responsible, patient with progress, keeping their eyes on the prize — but that glimmer of passionate creativity with the Knight of Wands still makes a lot of space for the joy in writing and collaboration, urging balance between inspiration and practicality.

The Hanged One and the Devil both encourage reflection and awareness, asking us to be conscious of the ways that we control our growth and progress and the times that we should throw caution to the wind and trust our instincts.

Supporting the self financially with writing is absolutely possible, but it requires attention, awareness, thoughtful work, patience, and organization.

Doesn’t it feel like 2021 just flew by in a blink? Fall is officially upon us, and with just 80 days left for the year to end, it’s a great time to consider what else the stars have to offer us in 2021.

Scroll down to learn more about your 2021 zodiac predictions for what is left of the year and what exactly you can expect before the year ends.

What Has Happened in 2021 So Far?

There’s been a lot of team-spirited activity going on astrologically this year.

For starters, 2021 has seen rebellious Uranus (in Fixed Taurus) square off with tradition-loving Saturn in Aquarius. While the actual square is marked by three important dates, the entire year was sprinkled with the theme of this planetary war bringing transformational changes for many zodiac signs.

The cupid of the zodiac, Venus, will be going retrograde on December 19th, setting the stage for an interesting holiday season. If you hear back from an ex, remember to stay grounded while making the decision to let back this old flame of yours.

The mischievous messenger of the zodiac, Mercury, will be in retrograde (Hello, chaos!) for the last time this year between September 27th to October 18th, 2021.

How were your last two Mercury Retrogrades this year? This last one being in Libra, has its central theme around relationships. This makes for a great time to be re-evaluating where you stand in your relationships and how you can strive to make them healthier.

Brace yourself for the fall/winter eclipse season this year.

A Lunar Eclipse in Taurus on November 19th has a good chance of redefining what intense means for each of our zodiac signs. This November, we will be getting a feel for what will unfold in 2022 eclipses, all of which fall on the Scorpio-Taurus axis. Better start getting used to a whole new level of intense!

The December 4th Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius should bring completion to story themes that began earlier during the summer eclipses of this year.

Finally, Jupiter is hanging out in Aquarius for the rest of the year, putting a positive spin on reform and change at the grassroots level. From December 28th onwards, it moves into Pisces, so expect it to expand all-things-Pisces in your life.

2021 Predictions for the Zodiac Signs

With Saturn in your 11th house of network circles, Aries, this year might have felt like a giant ol’ social bonanza for all you rams.

Your Cardinal energy might have been expended in socializing, zoom calls, and making the most of professional networking. For the rest of the year, the November Lunar Eclipse brings a key focus on how you value your resources, wealth, and expenses. It’s all about that money, after all!

Plus, the December 4th Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius asks that you question the validity of your beliefs.

Let’s just say it out loud, shall we, Taurus?

Coping with sudden change is not your favorite thing to do! A Fixed sign such as you, who is all about structure, plan, stability, consistency, might have had a challenging time this year with unpredictable Uranus in your sign driving its lightning bolt down onto you.

The last Uranus Saturn square on December 24th is the last one you will have to deal with in a while. Bet this planetary transit has made resilience your new last name this whole year. Ain’t that a good thing?!

You will be feeling this winter’s eclipse season (particularly the November 19th Lunar Eclipse in your own sign) to be extra intense. It will herald a powerful time to reflect and release whatever is not serving you.

But inhale and exhale (now do it two more times!) because, with newfound perspective and a new transformation, you can make the most of the year-end and step into 2022 as a whole new you!

Mercury Retrograde affects you more so than other signs, Gemini. Watch out for chaos and miscommunication till October 18th. Also, know that you have a whole lot of Mutable energy, which gives you the ability to handle the sudden change at a moment’s notice.

The Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius helps you tie up loose ends with relationships and other 7th house-related themes that might have started summer of this year.

Plus, the last Saturn-Uranus square is likely to push you to re-evaluate your beliefs if you already haven’t. Out with the old Gemini!

We all love security and loads of money, don’t we, Cancer? But this winter, expect to receive clumps of cash.

Did you scream and shout yet? What are you waiting for?

The theme of Saturn in Aquarius makes you rethink and transform your values when it comes to inherited wealth and alternate sources of income. Additionally, all-things-hidden could be brought to the fore on December 24th when Uranus and Saturn meet for their final clash of this year.

By the end of the year, you would have transformed the 8th house matters (truth, sex, hidden mysteries, and hidden wealth) of your life to a considerable extent.

Love, partnerships, marriage, and long-term relationships may have been on your mind this year, Leo. Saturn, the taskmaster of the planets, has been hanging out in your 7th house of partnerships this year and might have made sure to re-examine where you stand with your relationships.

The final square off on December 24th is likely to be a big one on the relationship front for you. Expect to see some deep transformation in this area of your life.

Venus is going retrograde in your 6th house of work and daily routines on December 19th and will be asking you to revisit and revise your routines for the better, just in time for the holidays.

From December 19th onwards, know that you will be heavily focused on matters of the heart, romance, and creativity thanks to the planet of love Venus going retrograde in Capricorn, your 5th house of pleasure.

You might hear back from an ex during this time, Virgo! Bet your reticent, introverted sign can’t wait for it to be over and done with already?

But chin up buttercup, any relationship awkwardness can be easily navigated thanks to the gas giant Jupiter getting ready to station himself in Pisces, your 7th house of relationships, on December 28th.

The third and final Mercury Retrograde of the year happens to be in your sign, Libra. We have to ask – How’s it going? Are your balances all thrown off? Fortunately, being an Air sign, we trust you have what it takes to navigate this chaotic mayhem.

With Saturn positioned in Aquarius, your 5th house might have put a strain on your ability to get onto dating apps and get some romance going in the air. This tension is likely to peak on December 24th, with the last and final Uranus-Saturn square of the year.

But with that being said, you can actually use Saturn’s patterns to your advantage. This planet’s energy in Aquarius, another Air sign, might leave you feeling lighter and brighter. Your outlook for this year’s end is bright, Libra!

Intense – isn’t that your middle name, Scorpio?

This winter Lunar Eclipse in Taurus is intense and puts your focus straight on relationships.

Consider – what are some of your unhealthy thought patterns and habits that are hindering genuine connection and deep intimacy for you? Reflect and let it go with this Lunar Eclipse.

Also, prepare for a whole year of eclipses on the Scorpio-Taurus axis. Eclipses have a way of bringing fated endings and clear the slate for new beginnings. And while relationships are what you hold onto with your dear heart, remind yourself that you are a master of death and rebirth, Scorpio.

You got this!

Saturn in your 3rd house of communication, short distance travel, relation with siblings must have put a dent in your ability to communicate in general, but more so with your siblings. Any sibling/communication drama will intensify on December 24th during the last Uranus-Saturn square. Know that it is for the better and molds you into a better version of yourself, Sagittarius.

Jupiter is entering Pisces, your 4th house of home and family, on December 28th. Expect yourself to be cozying with a blanket by the fireplace and drinking hot chocolate shots with your family.

Did you ask, “Why isn’t it the holidays yet?” We’re kind of with you on that.

Venus is going retrograde in your own sign, Capricorn! All attention on you from December 19th onwards and into 2022. Did you cringe just a little hearing this? We’re sure you will manage just fine!

This year, Saturn has been testing your ability to manage material resources and wealth management in your 2nd house of Aquarius. Have you not been able to make your typical material purchases and watched some niggles come through? Well, now you know why!

Don’t fret, Cap. You always figure out a way.

Lights, camera, action! Look! Saturn Uranus square has put a spotlight straight on you.

Your 1st house has been highlighted through the year, but most of all, on February 14th, June 14th, and December 24th. Did you feel thrown out of your comfort zone this year, Aquarius? If you did and coping with change was hard for you, remember that growth happens only outside your comfort zone.

Remind yourself that you did the best you could. This transformative energy is sure to hit a high note during the November 19th and December 4th eclipses. But don’t say “Oh-No!” just yet – abundant Jupiter will enter Pisces, your 2nd house, on December 28th, making this an excellent time for focusing on material wealth.

We say, go ahead and make your holiday shopping list extra indulgent and guilt-free.

You are the natural 12th house of the zodiac ruling all-things-subconscious mind. While all-things-subconscious seem like the home ground for you, Saturn in Aquarius (your 12th house), this year is asking you to plunge deeper than ever before into the depths of your subconscious ocean.

Your inner world has been thus far a prime focus, dear Pisces. Even if it might have felt intense at times, the year-end puts a positive spin for you, with expansive Jupiter entering your sign on December 28th, bringing good luck and abundance your way.

Additionally, the eclipses put a spotlight on home and family allowing you to see that home is where happiness begins.

Are You Saying, Yay or Nay?

Okay, so each of you’ve checked your 2021 zodiac predictions (and that of your crush/partner/friend/bae, too! Psst: We get it! It’s now become the norm).

Pagan & Celtic Traditions

The Wheel of the Year is a series of eight holidays, originally assembled by the founders of Wicca and the Golden Dawn but with strong roots in Pagan and Celtic traditions.

Whether or not you honor these special celebrations, you may still be familiar with these names, as they are often conflated or tangled in secular holidays. All eight Sabbats are tied to the seasons, with four marking solstices and equinoxes, and the other four associated with Celtic fire festivals:

  • Samhain: Halloween / Pagan New Year / All Hallow’s Eve
  • Yule: Winter Solstice / Christmas
  • Imbolc: Saint Brigid’s Day / Candlemas
  • Ostara: Spring Equinox / Easter
  • Beltane: May Day
  • Litha: Summer Solstice / Midsummer
  • Lammas: Frey Fest / Lughnasagh
  • Mabon: Autumn Equinox / Pagan Thanksgiving

Many of these celebrations are connected to gratitude and explore the natural cycles of planting, nurturing, harvesting, and rest. And while each of these festivals has a history, tradition, and magic all its own, for many witches, Samhain is the most important Sabbat of the year.

The Roots of Samhain

After the transition into colder weather and the celebration of autumn with Mabon, Samhain marks the start of a new year. We say goodbye to an old cycle and step into another one.

Occurring during Scorpio season and at the mid-point between the autumn equinox and the winter solstice, this is a time when we speak of the “thinning of the veil” between the physical and spiritual worlds.

As a new year begins, we remember the dead, the people and places and things that we have lost, and also celebrate the harvest of plants and livestock. Samhain marks the first festival of the dark half of the Wheel of the Year, transitioning from honoring cycles of birth, life, and growth into cycles of death, stillness, and recovery.

Check out: How To Prepare For Scorpio Season

Connecting Samhain with the Tarot

In the Major Arcana, the archetype of Death rarely signals a physical death but instead marks a significant shift in our growth cycle.

Some endings we choose, others are forced upon us, but the result is an inevitable conclusion — a necessary goodbye that allows us to leave behind a dream, relationship, career, pattern, ambition, hope, wish, or situation that has gone stagnant.

And while this is something that is worth acknowledging, grieving, and spending time reflecting on, it also can bring a sense of relief, even freedom. If the concept of death makes you nervous, uncomfortable, or even angry, spend some time dwelling on the gifts that death can bring.

What does leaving something behind or acknowledging an ending make space for? How do we honor things that are gone and welcome new opportunities?

Samhain gives us a chance to note where we crave abundance and where we need release. We cannot only ever ask to receive things: there’s only so much we can carry, only room for so many plants in our garden. Sometimes we need to clear things out, acknowledge rot and decay, make space for the new.

To that end, death does not have to be sad, scary, or painful. It can also be a celebration, a joyful time of remembrance, a recognition of the things that matter.

  • What have you lost, or are you in the process of losing?
  • How do subtle or substantial deaths eventually create opportunities for rebirth?
  • In giving ourselves time to process emotions and honor all that has passed, how do we show ourselves love, compassion, and grace?

Don’t miss: A Tarot Spread For The Start & End Of Your Day

A Tarot Spread for Samhain

Our spread for this season makes space for both sorrow and triumph, encouraging us to remember the past even as we dream of new futures. Darkness can bring gifts, and in periods of stillness, awareness, observation, and reflection, our intuition can speak to us in new and profound ways.

For this reading, consider:

  • What are your shadows trying to tell you?
  • What are you eager to release?
  • What are you still clinging to?
  • How can you anticipate the rebirth that is on its way instead of fighting for something already gone?

This sample reading with the Marigold Tarot is meant to inspire and demonstrate how to effectively use this spread. It was not drawn for anyone in particular, but you may still find inspiration or empowerment from it.

Card One: An Ending to Honor

5 of Rings

The 5 of Rings is a card traditionally associated with struggle, grief, or a lack of resources. It represents a moment when we need help but are afraid to accept it. There’s real sorrow, even desperation, in this card — yet the support that we need is available to us if we can simply take what is being extended.

As an ending, this card offers hope for the future, indicating that a period of hardship or difficult circumstances may be coming to a close. Yet this card also offers advice, telling us to set aside our pride and take the help that is being offered. While things are going to get better, we still need to act in order to improve our circumstances.

There is real strength and comfort within arm’s reach — and this card wants us to accept it.

Card Two: A Way to Grieve

8 of Cups

Tied to release and moving on, the 8 of Cups is a deliberate decision to end something.

Whether it’s a toxic relationship, an old dream, or a harmful situation, we reach this point when we’ve done everything that we can to repair a challenging issue and have not made progress in some time. Instead of continuing to spin our wheels, this card is the moment when we decide to leave our old ways behind, to start down a new path.

And in this position of grieving, the 8 of Cups wants us to remember what we are moving towards, to take ownership of our choices, and to recognize that we are now reaching for something brighter and healthier.

Card Three: A Way to Celebrate

4 of Cups

Usually associated with selfishness, isolation, or stagnation in relationships, the 4 of Cups is a closed heart and a closed mind. Echoing themes from the 5 of Rings that appeared earlier in this reading, this card wants us to be more aware of the opportunities and possibilities that are within reach and to celebrate the communities and connections that we have.

Sometimes when we are facing obstacles, we retreat into ourselves, believing that no one else could possibly understand what we are enduring. Yet this card reminds us that there is happiness to find, people that love us, and beautiful joys to celebrate. We are not as alone as we believe that we are, and there are so many new ways to find hope — we simply have to be willing to look for them.

Card Four: A Gift From Your Shadows

6 of Swords

We all have things that we’re afraid of, avoid confronting — but these shadows often remind us of our strength, our courage, the things that we have overcome and conquered. And the 6 of Swords is a card of movement and regained clarity, of leaving behind a situation that was harmful to us and instead choosing something new. It’s trusting in ourselves and our instincts, believing that something better is possible, taking actionable steps to put ourselves in a better situation.

Just like with the 8 of Cups, there may still be grief present, a period of mourning and sorrow as we say goodbye to something that we once deliberately pursued. But our shadows want us to recognize the strength that it takes to choose ourselves and to be open to whatever may be around the next corner.

Card Five: A Rebirth to Anticipate

8 of Swords

A card that indicates a mental trap or lack of perspective, the 8 of Swords can be challenging energy to see in a reading. This often comes up when we aren’t certain of our options, when it feels like we are completely powerless, or when we find ourselves beginning to despair that we’ll ever find the things that we’ve been looking for.

But as a rebirth to anticipate, this card suggests that we may be breaking free of these traps, that in taking action and making changes, this is something that we can avoid or escape.

The 8 of Swords is not a sign that the universe is working against us that we aren’t smart or capable of solving our own problems — instead, it’s a reminder that our perspective may be flawed, that we may be limiting our choices because of our own beliefs. In opening our eyes fully, in recognizing where help and support are available, we can be reborn anew.

Use the Tarot to Celebrate Samhain This Year

This reading tells a beautifully clear story: that while it may feel like we’re alone, lost, trapped, and without the resources that we need to thrive, in fact, we simply need to leave behind self-limiting narratives and take action to change our circumstances.

The stories that we tell ourselves have power — but by acknowledging situations and relationships that are harmful, in being willing to accept help, in seeking truth and objectivity, we can enter a new stage of growth, awareness, and self-love.

We deserve compassion, honesty, and safety, and in recognizing what we are walking away from, in making space for new dreams, those gifts are all within reach.

How do you celebrate Samhain? What does the Death card have to teach us about saying goodbye? When has an ending that felt painful in the moment but resulted in something new and beautiful?

Tarot can be a wonderful tool for so many situations, challenges, questions, and reflections. Offering guidance, awareness, fresh insights, and powerful truths, the cards have a way of cutting through the crap and helping us see things a bit more clearly, from different angles and new perspectives.

While it’s sometimes helpful to have a specific Tarot spread for a specific issue, and while detailed layouts can allow us to dig into a question or challenge in an unexpected way, most of the time, you probably won’t be able to find a spread that is perfectly tailored to your exact question.

Whether you’re reading about a relationship, opportunity, decision, obstacle, possibility, or boundary, most situations are more complicated than a spread is likely to reference. Fortunately, Tarot doesn’t require elaborate spreads in order to still give us the kind of clarity or direction that we’re so often looking for. And in these instances, a more general spread can often function for us in a way that is incredibly useful.

Don’t have a Tarot deck yet? That’s okay! Get your free daily one-card reading or free past/present/future three-card reading online today.

The Benefits of a General Tarot Spread

General spreads are practical and powerful, giving you Universal guidance that you can apply to whatever your question or concern is. You can certainly adjust the wording in this spread to be more specific or personal if you like, but I find that general spreads don’t usually require this.

Simply focus on your situation, shuffle and pull cards as you usually do, and see what your deck has to offer you.

If you’ve been reading Tarot for yourself for any length of time, you’ve likely already used general spreads before, particularly highly-recommended three-card spreads.

Beloved layouts like Past / Present / Future or Body / Mind / Spirit can be great for questions, reflections, or problem-solving, while spreads like Situation / Obstacle / Advice or Stop / Start / Continue can offer practical advice and insightful suggestions for what to do next. But if you’d like something a bit more detailed or extensive, this spread can help.

A Tarot Spread for General Clarity & Guidance

This spread is great for making decisions, but it can also help to invite new perspectives and viewpoints, pushing us to consider the risks available to us, to honor any fears or hesitations that have been bubbling up.

Boundaries and limits that we create for ourselves are often there to protect us—and while sometimes we can grow by pushing against them or changing them, other times they serve us well just as they are. If you’ve been reluctant to move, if you know something you’ve been trying not to examine, this spread can help shine some light into those darker corners.

And if you’re just looking for the Tarot to give you some much-needed wisdom or clarity, this spread makes space for the cards to speak freely on whatever topic they choose.

To help you understand how you can use this spread, I’ve done a simple sample reading.

Note: this is very general, and while you may find some wisdom or insights that feel personal for you, this spread is in no way meant to be a community reading and was not pulled with any particular question, situation, or person in mind.

Card One: A Truth to Explore

Ace of Water / Ace of Cups

A card of overflowing emotion, a desire for connection, and a new intuitive journey, the more traditionally known Ace of Cups often comes forward when we are opening our hearts to something magical, insightful, and community-oriented. There’s a deep joy here, a sense of trust and faith in the self.

In this position of truth to explore, the Ace of Cups indicates that we can put a lot of stock into our own feelings.

Things to think about:

  • What do we desire?
  • How are we moving in a direction that honors what we long for, what we crave?

Our deepest wishes and most powerful ambitions often come from the heart, so with this first card, we are invited to let our emotions take up space, to trust in our intuition to guide us forward.

Consider—how can we explore our own depths more fully? What truth have we been hiding from ourselves?

Card Two: A Risk To Consider

The Devil

Usually associated with destructive behaviors, negative patterns, or a big spiritual lesson, the Devil is an archetype of obstacles and challenges, things that distract us from our bigger goals.

But in this position of risk, the cards seem to be inviting us to pay attention to what is driving our choices, urging us to be honest with ourselves about what we really want and what we’re actually chasing. Have we been taking chances with our ambitions? Have we been afraid to lose something and make decisions based on that fear?

Risk is not always a bad thing, and sometimes we have to intentionally release control of a challenging situation rather than trying to manipulate outcomes.

Consider—where do we get our power? How can surrender actually help us clarify what we want to pursue?

Card Three: An Insight To Acknowledge

Knight of Air / Knight of Swords

The first of three court cards in this reading, the Knight of Air, or traditionally known as the Knight of Swords, is associated with intellectual adventure, determination, and intense focus.

Knights always invite us to consider how we are balancing a particular element, and this explorer of air often sees the world in black and white, believing that their perspective or solution to a problem is the best possible choice. But it’s easy to put blinders on when we’re so eager to reach a particular milestone, easy to get caught up in one path forward, and lose sight of other options.

And in this position, the Knight of Swords invites us to be honest with ourselves about what we’re doing and about who or what we may be ignoring.

Consider—how can we broaden our viewpoint, listen to other voices, make space for other potential truths?

Don’t miss: A Tarot Card Spread For Quick and Easy Insight

Card Four: A Fear To Honor

Knight of Fire / Knight of Wands

Often seen as fearless, ambitious, and wildly creative, the Knight of Wands is charismatic, bold, and willing to take risks to accomplish big dreams. But like the Knight of Air, this is a figure that urges us to remember balance, to not get so caught up in our singular viewpoint or experience that we block everything else out.

With the Knight of Fire, in particular, we see someone that may be great at starting projects but doesn’t always know how to see them through to the finish line.

In this position of fear, the cards ask us to honor our concerns that we won’t be able to complete this project and challenge us to make a real plan for the future rather than making things up as we go along.

Consider—how can we set ourselves up for success? What details or ideas do we need to clarify?

Card Five: A Next Step Forward

Page of Earth / Page of Pentacles

A child of curiosity and practicality, the Page of Pentacles is eager to start a new venture but intelligent enough to know that they need to assess and gather resources first. A perfect solution to the challenges raised in the first four cards, this student of Earth considers many options, doing research and assembling information before making any commitments.

Rather than rushing into something blind, getting caught up in desire, or charging forward without a clear idea of where we’re going, this card encourages us to be patient and intentional, to trust in the process, and to prioritize long-term vision over short-term gratification.

Consider—how can we begin planting seeds for our future? What do we need in order to be successful?

Shuffle Your Cards for Clearer Insight

So many of the cards in this reading touch on themes of control, surrender, and power, indicating that there is an opportunity present to clarify desires, evaluate where we are on our journey, and prioritize the dreams that matter most.

And with three court cards in this reading, it’s possible that there are people in our lives that are eager to help us, as well as aspects of ourselves that we should be exploring more fully. How can hearing different perspectives help us be sure about what we believe? Where are we being invited to grow?

This spread can offer a sense of empowerment, giving you clear insights into where you are and guidance about where you want to go. What are your favorite general spreads?

Ever read your daily or weekly love horoscope and known it was meant just for you? Or maybe you used it to your advantage, planning ahead for the rest of your day or making that romantic date all the more worthwhile?

It can be a valuable asset in your spiritual toolkit to see how the stars are aligning for you personally! In a general sense, however, there is always a way to see what we should be looking out for as a whole on our astrological calendar.

So, in addition to your daily horoscope, you’ll probably want to mark down the following months and dates on your 2022 calendar if you’re looking for love or want to plan ahead for special romantic days of connection!

Best Days for Romance in 2022

Keep in mind that even if you miss a date or two, astrology is a tool for understanding, not an ultimate authority on when you should or shouldn’t make certain kinds of decisions (although it can certainly help!).

That said, here are the times you’ll want to look out for in the year ahead!

1. Venus Goes Direct

Venus, the planet of love and beauty, is undoubtedly a planet to look at when we’re talking love and romance. For half of December 2021 and a decent majority of January 2022, however, this lovely planet will have been in retrograde, making its effects feel strange or backward.

Thankfully, Venus goes direct on January 29th, 2022, and stays that way the entire year.

Mars, the planet of ambition and drive, also will be direct until October 30th, which means that these two planets are seeing straightforward expressions for a decent chunk of the year.

This is good news to make a note of on your calendar and a good reminder that even if you see some uncomfortable shake-ups at the beginning of the New Year, you can expect smoother waters in romance with a little bit of patience.

Zodiac Signs Most Affected

1. Capricorn

Capricorn will have been particularly shaken by the effects of Venus retrograde, and the direct motion now points those in the sign of the wise goat into a clearer direction. Take note of everything you’ve learned over the past couple of months, Capricorn. Consider how you can apply your newfound knowledge to new romantic or interpersonal goals?

2. Cancer

Cancer placements can struggle with Capricorn-heavy transits, being their direct opposition. Venus in Capricorn being direct instead of retrograde, however, may enlighten the crab to new ideas or perspectives you previously missed.

Keep an open mind and keep rolling with the punches for the best results, Cancer!

3. Aquarius

Aquarius placements may want to watch out for this event because it happens to fall under Aquarius season itself, and you probably already have goals and ideas for yourself in motion.

Venus going direct can possibly assist your momentum and point you to those that may be helpful in cooperating with your vision!

2. April Showers Bring Piscean Rain

The emotion-sensitive, intuitive, and hopeless romantic Water sign of Pisces will be seeing the cosmos to great extents in April 2022.

Venus enters Pisces on April 5th, closely followed by Mars entering the sweet and psychic sign on April 14th. This aligns well with a general Pisces trend of Neptune and Jupiter, both sporting this sign for a good majority of 2022, with its effects being seen particularly prominently around this time.

What does it all mean? During most of April, you’ll see a softer, compassionate, and more emotional undertone to all that you encounter, especially when it comes to love and romance. It’s truly time to get in touch with your heart!

Special date to look out for: On April 18th, 2022, Venus will make a sweet sextile aspect with communicative Mercury, with communication (especially with loved ones) feeling super smooth and understanding.

Zodiac Signs Most Affected

1. Pisces

Pisces, unsurprisingly will be highly affected by this period in general. You may feel particularly emotional and stuck in your feelings at this time, but it’s this very sensitivity that can help you win over some hearts.

2. Taurus

Taurus will be inhabiting Mercury on the special date for this month, which means our bull friends should be paying attention to how they can use their words to their advantage.

3. Virgo

Virgo may have a harder time seeing the bright side of this particularly emotional time, as, despite their compassionate nature, the sign of the maiden directly opposes Pisces and doesn’t quite carry out their compassion in the same way.

Being receptive to going with the flow rather than expecting routine, order, or even logic from those that you connect with this month is key, Virgo.

3. Mercury Goes Direct in June

You’ve probably heard of the dreaded Mercury Retrograde, but how about appreciating when it’s in direct motion?

Mercury goes direct on June 3, 2022, just in time for Mercury-ruled conversation-lover Gemini to take the reins for the remainder of their season. (Gemini season will take us until June 21, 2022—when the Sun enters Cancer).

Maybe the idea of quick-witted discussion and banter doesn’t fit your idea of traditional romance, but this period of time is certainly one for getting your ideas out into the world and making connections.

Special date to look out for: Mark the calendar for June 19th, 2022, when Venus is sextile dreamy Neptune, and we’ll see particularly romantic energy throughout the day.

Signs Most Affected:

1. Gemini

Gemini placements will thrive during this Gemini-prominent time in general. You’ll want to use your natural charisma and charm to connect with those that matter and leave room for just enough humor and lightheartedness along the way.

2. Taurus

Taurus will want to take advantage of our special June date, as Venus itself will be at home in the sign of the bull. Speak freely and confidently, and don’t be afraid to go for a risky, dramatic, or more glamorous gesture if you’re looking to make the day extra romantic!

3. Pisces

Pisces will also have a sweet connection to June 19th, 2022 — Neptune is residing in Pisces, its home turf when that sextile is made. Take advantage by paying attention to your intuition and dreams in particular, and listen to the wisdom hidden within.

4. Center Stage: August Leo Flair

The latter half of 2022 gets a bit rockier astrologically, and it may seem like romance is less so on your mind by the time it rolls around — but it doesn’t have to be so!

Leo season is an underrated time for embracing matters of the heart, with its Fiery, passionate flair and sense for the dramatics. Sometimes, leaning into the romantic drama of it all can be the right move.

Plus, Venus itself enters Leo on August 11th, 2022, so leaning into the passion and theatrics can make everything a bit more fun. Devote some extra time to those you care about, or spice up your existing relationships with a surprise date or outing!

Special date to look out for: Venus makes a comfortable trine with Jupiter on August 22nd, 2022, where our luck with love and romance gets particularly heightened.

Signs Most Affected:

1. Leo

Leo naturally absorbs most of the spotlight (and goods) for August as a whole. Your superpower lies in your passion and confidence within romance here, so whether you want to win a date or deepen an existing connection, you’ll want to trust in your own abilities more than anything.

2. Aries

Aries will be loving not only the fiery vibes from Leo season and the Leo Venus transit but also from inhabiting Jupiter during the sweet trine on August 22nd. Taking initiative is highly encouraged during this time for the bold ram, as fortune truly will favor the bold.

3. Aquarius

Aquarius may have a harder time with these transits in general, directly opposing Leo while still also sharing its Fixed energy. Remember that it’s okay to enjoy yourself, Aquarius, and sometimes more eyes on you isn’t always a bad thing — you’re allowed to enjoy the attention and affection just as much as anyone else!

5. Get Practical in December

Capricorn will be dominating the sky for most of December, especially during the latter half when Capricorn season itself picks up.

The wise old goat may not seem like the most exciting energy to be showering the cosmos, but its focus here is truly showing us how to be practical, grounded, and real about how we want to pursue love and romance within the relationships that matter.

Who said romance couldn’t also be about securing a stable future for those that you care about? It’s time to figure out how your true desires are aligning with the people around you and really listen to where the heart wants you to go.

Special date to look out for: Venus, this time in Capricorn (go figure), will be sextile Neptune once again on December 28th, 2022, with this transit being more of a help in practical goal-setting and letting your heart and intuition be guiding tools.

Zodiac Signs Most Affected

1. Capricorn

Capricorn will be plenty comfortable with this set of transits. Here, your long-term mindset and practical goal-setting can be what helps you succeed the most in your relationships with others, and it’s these qualities that others will most see and appreciate within you.

2. Pisces

Pisces is the balancing energy needed right now, both specifically on December 28th and in general as Capricorn season ensues. You’ll thrive in love and romance by working to balance practicality with intuition and sensitivity, showing that the best of both worlds is ideal for success.

3. Cancer

Cancer placements may again find some difficulty finding their footing here. You’ll need to adapt your desire for intuitive and emotional decision-making to a world that seems to want clear-cut goals and communication right now.

Ultimately, your softness can be a valuable asset to offsetting any serious energy hanging over the world at this time, but you’ll need to meet others in the middle as well.

The sexiest zodiac signs have an undeniable magnetic attraction. You can feel their pull and can taste their charm. But before we dive into the sexiest zodiac sign in order, what does it mean to be sexy?

Overall, this may come down to individual preferences. Yet, the science of sexy (aka research) shows what makes someone “sexy” is frequently defined by their humor, likeability, consciousness, and even how they make you feel.

So, in the spirit of sexy Scorpio season, let’s finally dig into this topic. What are the sexiest zodiac signs?

Ranking the Sexiest Zodiac Signs

1. Scorpio

First up is Scorpio.

Now, this shouldn’t come as any surprise. Scorpios are known for their sexiness! In fact, they are well-known for their energy, passion, charisma, and intensity. All of these factors draw people to them and make them appealing to others around them.

As a Scorpio, you create intrigue.

You’re quiet yet charismatic. You have energy and intensity, but it’s also layered with some darkness. In a way, you unknowingly create an aura of mystery, which definitely makes others want to know more.

Check this out: How to Navigate Love & Relationships with Scorpios

2. Cancer

Cancers love intensely.

They are emotional beings, but this isn’t necessarily bad. More so, it means they love to love and nurture. They connect on a deep emotional level, which makes them sexy and appealing to prospective partners and more.

Emotions aside, Cancers are also funny, charming, and loyal individuals. For a love match, you know you have someone who won’t stray and will give it their all when you’re in a relationship with a Cancer.

3. Pisces

Pisces make sensitive partners but are also true romantics. They give to their partners and are very considerate, making them ultra-sexy to those around them.

As far as the sexiest zodiac signs go, Pisces make great partners, which is highly attractive to others.

4. Leo

While Leos may be narcissistic (don’t worry, we still love you, Leos!), their confidence and boldness are unmatched. A Leos’ assertiveness makes them great sex partners. In many ways, they are intentionally and unintentionally sexy, ranking them as top five in terms of sexiness.

Leos are fearless, energetic, and, sometimes, intense. They pour passion into everything they do, causing others to gravitate toward them.

5. Sagittarius

Fun and up for anything, a Sagittarius isn’t exactly scared of experimenting or freedom. In fact, part of their attractiveness is their autonomy.

A Sagittarius also has another sexy aspect: they are hard to get. But when they do fall, they fall hard, making them intense and passionate partners.

6. Gemini

While Geminis might get bored easily, this trait actually makes them ultra-sexy. They will chase after the newness and even display some unpredictability, which for many others can act as a breath of fresh air.

A Gemini can also be playful and childlike, making them fun and entertaining to be around. As lovers, they are another intense sign. They love a good challenge. And this doesn’t exactly make them easy to get in bed, but it does add some sexual stimulation, drawing many individuals into their inner web.

7. Taurus

Ruled by Venus (known as the planet of love), Taureans exude a natural sexiness. With a strong sense of self, they don’t need all the attention, which can be extremely attractive.

In truth, their loyalty and attunement with their senses make Taureans super appealing and sexy. The one problem that can arise with Taureans is their inability, at times, to communicate, which, when in a relationship, can lead to various misunderstandings.

8. Virgo

As an Earth sign, Virgos are very committed within relationships and very nurturing. This can make them super sexy to their partners or potential partners. They also have a fairly good balance between independence and dependency, making them confident and strong partners.

In many ways, Virgos are excellent at making sense of things that don’t exactly make sense to others. This offers a place of security, especially if you’re someone they care about.

Make sure to check out: How to Navigate Love & Relationships with Virgos

9. Aquarius

Aquarius individuals tune into others’ wants and needs.

They also like to have fun, making them a playful and caring zodiac sign to be around. In fact, they are one of the best zodiac signs to be in good company with, which makes them undeniably attractive.

10. Libra

At peace, a Libra brings a sense of calm and rationality to a room. Their sex appeal is heightened by their ability to be devoted and caring partners. Yet, it’s their attention to detail that truly gets them the attention they deserve and draws people to them.

Define Your Sexy

Maybe your zodiac sign isn’t listed above. This doesn’t necessarily mean you aren’t one sexy individual! Remember, like beauty, sexiness is in the eye of the beholder. Different individuals might find different traits attractive.

Plus, zodiac signs are the end-all, be-all to your personality. So, if you’re not one of the top sexiest zodiac signs, don’t let it get to you. Know you’re sexy in your own way, always.

This transit increases your mental activity and clarity, making it easier to think clearly. However, this energy can lead to arguments or conflict, so be sure to balance your energy in the morning with meditation or yoga.

The Scorpio Sun is in harmony with Neptune, currently in Pisces, on November 12th – a transit that amplifies compassion, empathy, and a dreamy outlook. Your imagination will be heightened, and your mind may wish to wander, making it a fantastic day to get creative and express those whimsical ideas.

This transit may bring deeply buried emotions to the surface, but it also gives you the chance to heal those wounds and find growth. A sense of renewal is palpable, leaving you refreshed and ready for the next week!

It’s crucial that you take care of yourself and make space for any emotions that might pop up now. Treat yourself as you would treat a friend this week.

This week, be gentle and understanding with yourself.

When you give yourself the love and support you would give to those you care for, it’s much easier to handle big emotions or transformative revelations that may be exposed.

If you struggle with self-love and self-care, a personalized astrological reading can help you learn how to love yourself unconditionally!

If there’s one thing that we know to be true, it’s that everyone’s different — including how we work, play, and, yes, even slack off.

Astrology has been a guide to deeper self-exploration and understanding long before we stepped foot onto this planet, and it equally can be a helpful guide in seeing how our styles of work differ from one another.

Today we’ll deep dive into the zodiac signs that may have a harder time pulling together the strength necessary to get that pesky responsibility done or balk at the sight of a long to-do list.

Which zodiac signs are the laziest? Time to find out!

“Laziness” in Astrology 101

As much as we like to simplify, nothing is black-and-white or as easy-breezy as a simple “lazy” or “not lazy” label, even in astrology (where we do love a good category).

However, there are multiple ways that you can identify how you work within your natal chart, like seeing what signs or planets are inhabiting your 6th house, for example. Or, you could also take a look at your Mars sign to see how you express things like drive, motivation, and ambition.

In other words, there’s clearly a lot to unpack when it comes to understanding how you work. At the end of the day, however, some zodiac signs are more equipped than others to handle something like a standard 9-5 or fit into the routines, systems, and structures that we abide by in the 21st century.

And yes, we may perceive that as laziness… or, depending on your perspective, perhaps a unique quality of rebellion!

Not sure what planets are most prominent in your birth chart? Try this free birth chart calculator!

Ranking the Signs Based on Laziness

While all zodiac signs share their own strengths and weaknesses, some do not tend to shine in the midst of a heavy workload (or at least, could use a different motivator).

Here are the zodiac signs ranked from most to least “lazy.”

1. Sagittarius

Before the bright-minded Sagittarian spirits out there protest, the wild archer being at the top of the list comes with one caveat: Sagittarius does not work unless they truly wish to.

It’s not that Sagittarius lacks the backbone to persevere through a difficult task, but they often will roll their eyes at a lengthy to-do list or overly complicated process that gets boring quickly. If it’s not interesting, they’re not interested.

Sagittarius loves to learn and wander and roam, but they don’t love being tied down unnecessarily. If you want them to work for you, make the job spark their curiosity — or watch it go unfinished.

2. Pisces

There are a variety of positive claims to the Pisces name. But “slow and steady hard worker?” Not usually one of them.

Unpredictable and flexible, Pisces adheres well to the Mutable quality. In the element of Water, this flexibility is more emotional and intuitive in nature and less focused on what’s right in front of them.

While Pisces can rush to your aid in a time of emotional need at the drop of a hat, they may be less inclined to sit in one spot and file through a block of paperwork… and without daydreaming? That’s a hefty goal.

3. Taurus

Taurus often gets quite the reputation for being lazy or stubborn, but why is that?

Although Taurus is a Fixed sign and an Earth sign and can readily keep its eye on just one goal of interest for a long period of time, the steady bull does not rush on its way there.

Like Sagittarius, a Taurus is also prone to reject doing work they see as unnecessary. However, unlike Sagittarius, it’s more likely that this is due to already having an established routine that they don’t wish to interrupt.

Plus, being Venus-ruled, a Taurus knows how to stop, smell the roses, and enjoy the finer things in life. You want them to halt their luxurious skincare routine for a last-minute project? Better call on a spontaneous Fire sign instead.

4. Libra

Like Taurus, Libra is Venus-ruled and appreciates the finer things that life has to offer.

Now, does this mean Libra is ready to kick back, relax, and fully let work pass them by? Not quite — as a Cardinal sign, Libra does know that there is a time and a place to take the lead.

But as a charismatic and bubbly personality, Libra is more than capable of using charm and wit to get someone else to do the dirtier work for them. And if they don’t have to get their hands dirty to enjoy the garden, there may be little stopping them from taking advantage.

5. Aquarius

Aquarius, the humanitarian of the zodiac, usually has big plans and ideas that they’d like to see take place in the world.

As big as those plans are, however, sometimes this idealistic Air sign is more prone to biting off more than they can chew.

Rebellious and progressive, they may also go against the grain from time to time and dislike the current methods of the moment, leading to perceived laziness to the outside eye.

6. Gemini

Gemini is a bit of a hit or a miss when it comes to their desire to put pen to paper or charge ahead at a heavy workload.

Curious and intellectual, it’s no doubt that this sign has a knack for problem-solving, being an integral part of a brainstorming team, or asking the right questions to get an important job done.

On the other hand, Geminis are also known for their Mutability, or, in other words, unpredictability. They may just catch sight of something shinier and more interesting, and their once-loved work project is already out of sight, left in the dust.

7. Aries

Ruled by Mars itself, you would certainly expect some drive from the competitive ram.

While Aries is loyal once they’ve really committed to someone or something, determined to see the path through, they are also prone to moving too fast too soon — and quickly burning themselves out in the process.

Although the ram may love devoting their energy to work that they care about, they’ll also have to remember to balance out that excitable spirit in order to make it last.

8. Leo

Born to take center-stage, Leo has a bit of a reputation for not being as much of a team player — but you’d be surprised at their work ethic once you hook them on the right project!

Leo is a Fixed sign like Taurus, usually keeping their eye on one goal or idea at a time. But as a fire sign, they also contain the spark, passion, and enthusiasm that can be necessary to give them the right amount of fuel.

Should you get a lion to put their eye on your job or project, you’ll have a loyal companion who desires just as much to put their work onto the map.

9. Cancer

Whether in work or in love, Cancer knows how to do one thing very well: care deeply.

As a Cardinal sign, the crab is actually the leader of the Water signs, which may seem surprising given their soft-spoken and sometimes shy presence.

However, they’re often the ones facilitating a lot of the work you never see behind the scenes, and they’re easily the puppetmaster pulling strings behind the curtain when you’re busy enjoying the show.

This sweet sign will put their everything into something that they care about, especially if their work environment is full of people that they adore.

10. Virgo

If there’s one stereotype you’ve heard about Virgo, it’s that they’re hard-working sometimes to a fault, earning them the “perfectionist” title.

Virgos are Mutable like Sagittarius and Gemini, making them adaptable and appreciative of having multiple angles to one problem or several hands to juggle different projects.

At the same time, they’re an Earth sign, placing their adaptability in all things tangible and physical — so, yes, they’re a fantastic detail-oriented set of eyes to have on any workforce.

11. Scorpio

Mars-ruled with a Fixed modality, Scorpio is a sign to be reckoned with when their eyes are set on a goal.

This fierce and passionate sign doesn’t just work hard, but they’ll be working hard with a ferocity and intensity that you will never quite see be matched by anyone else.

And especially if you’re witnessing their work in a field that they love, expect them to go to depths that weren’t even asked of them.

12. Capricorn

It is perhaps unsurprising that Capricorn, the wise old goat, has landed themselves as the least lazy of the zodiac.

Sometimes to a fault, Capricorn is known for their serious and steadfast gaze, always with their mind on the responsible choice and their hands already on deck to solve the next issue.

Capricorn is Saturn-ruled, so they’ve had to learn how to be responsible throughout the course of their life thanks to the planet of karma and discipline.

So, unsurprisingly, “lazy” is not one word you could use to describe them.

Lazy or Leader?

Remember: even if you don’t adhere to the definition of “hard-working” we’ve set in our present time, there may come a day where your other unique qualities, gifts, and attributes associated with your zodiac sign come to shine in the spotlight.

Perhaps in our modern-day, your working style is considered laziness, but we may be decades away from seeing your sign as the next pioneer or leader of how we should be operating!

Astrology reminds us that those unique qualities can be areas of difficulty but that sometimes our struggles are also what makes us shine!

If you’ve pulled the Page of Pentacles Tarot card in a Tarot reading, then this article is sure to help you out!

When it comes to Court Cards, some readers find it a little tricky to understand them. This is because Court Cards (which consist of Kings, Queens, Knights, and Pages) can represent an actual person or a situation—or even both. It is up to the reader to decipher what the Court Cards mean in each individual spread.

To keep things simple, let’s imagine that each Court Card plays its own significant role, something like the following:

  1. The Pages are the students who are just starting out. They are at the beginning stage.
  2. The Knights have been studying their craft for a long time and are ready to apply what they have learned to the real world.
  3. The Queens have mastered their craft, and they use their knowledge on an internal basis which includes embracing creativity and nurturing their families.
  4. The Kings have mastered their craft, and they use their knowledge on an external basis, which includes building businesses in the real world and providing for their families.

Each Page is on a journey to become a King or a Queen. Pages also represent messages, and the messages depend on their suit.

Do you want to be done and done with Scorpio season already? The skies are whispering, “not so fast!” for here comes this year’s final eclipse season. Mark your calendars for a Full Moon Lunar eclipse in Taurus on November 19th.

It’s an energy that is sure to shake up our sense of stability and security. To add to this raw intensity is an opposition between wild child Uranus (in Taurus) and warrior Mars (in Scorpio) on November 17th.

Clearly, this action-packed cosmic month has drama written all over it. But wait! Don’t slip into a worry spiral yet! We got you covered.

Today we’re talking about a Lunar eclipse ritual to help you navigate these volatile times. But first, let’s dive into the signs that will be most affected by the transit.

Top 5 Zodiac Signs Most Affected By the Lunar Eclipse in Taurus

Each zodiac sign is going to experience this eclipse energy differently. But some of you are going to be doing more of the heavy lifting. We’re listing the top five signs that’ll be most affected by this Lunar Eclipse.

1. Taurus

You guys are the show stoppers for this season!

This lunation is happening in your 1st house of physical vitality, sense of self, and all-things ego! Remember that your mind and body might be dealing with a possible loss of ego! Be gentle with yourself and acknowledge the metamorphosis you are going through.

We’re cheering you on, Taurus! You got this!

2. Gemini

The twins of the zodiac have a knack for handling fast-paced change thanks to their Mutable Air energy.

And yet, matters of the 12th house are never easy-peasy! This lunar eclipse is shining a light on your 12th house of the subconscious. Consider this an invitation to dig deep into newfound depths of your psyche! A potent time for shadow work and releasing toxic energy from your life.

Happy purging, Gemini!

3. Libra

A truckload of 8th house energy is coming your way, Libra.

This twice-as-intense Scorpio energy might make you feel like your balance is thrown off! The conditioned mind that fears transformation might be screaming to run. Remind yourself that rebirth and renewal are just what your soul prescribed this season.

Know that you have it in you to rise like a phoenix!

4. Scorpio

Scorpio! You are the co-stars alongside Taurus this eclipse season.

The Lunar eclipse in Taurus has you focusing on 7th house partnerships, business contracts, and relationships.

Have you been too nice and over-giving? Or have you been on your dark side Scorpio? Where do you stand in your relationships is a key question you’ll be asking yourself.

Acknowledge that this eclipse is here to act as a mirror for you to transform your relationships.

5. Sagittarius

Hydration – Check?

Vitamins, supplements – Check?

Work routines – Check?

It’s showtime for your 6th house of daily routines, health, and work habits.

If you’ve been overdoing or underdoing 6th house things, expect a possible dip in your health and/or potential chaos at work. Nobody likes to deal with issues regarding health and fitness.

Perhaps, it is just the impetus that your Fire sign needs this month to become a healthier you!

Your 2021 Taurus Lunar Eclipse Ritual

The lunar nodes bring a fated energy to an eclipse, which lasts months after the actual eclipse date. At this time, using a Lunar eclipse ritual to connect with ourselves and the Moon is a great way to harness the power of the skies.

Here’s a ritual to help all zodiac signs deal with anxiety and mental unrest this eclipse season.

Step 1: Introspection

Taurus being an Earth sign puts a spotlight on matters of security and stability. On the days leading up to the eclipse, take some time out to go within.

Ask yourself – “What are the themes that are currently playing out in my life this Scorpio month?”

In addition to material security, astrologically speaking, what other aspects of your life are being impacted by this Lunar eclipse? Journal your thoughts and set intentions for what or who you’d like to “eclipse” out of your life.

Step 2: Shamanic Drumming Sound Bath

Shamanic drumming has an incredible effect on our energy field, particularly on our Root chakra. What’s more, the earthy low pitch beats aptly represent the Earth sign of Taurus.

Start your eclipse day morning with shamanic drumming beats.

For 20 minutes, visualize the sound beats penetrating every cell in your body and renewing it with high-frequency energy. Add in any affirmations which remind you of your innate power.

This gives an instant mood boost and sets the tone for navigating eclipse day and any unexpected sudden changes. You might also burn sage, Palo Santo, or Frankincense to enhance this ritual.

Step 3: Ritual Moon-Water Bath

What on Earth is a Moon-water bath?

A Moon-water bath is an immensely effective way to harness the power of the Moon and release negativity from your life. While for most signs, this is a potent way to cleanse your energy field, Earth and Water signs can find tremendous benefit from this ritual.

Preparing Moon Water

  1. Leave a pail of regular tap water overnight out in the moonlight, a few days before the eclipse.
  2. Place a crystal or two—try using amethyst, rose quartz, selenite, or clear quartz—next to the pail of water.
  3. Add an intention to this practice.

The Moon Bath

On the evening of the eclipse, set the mood for spiritual self-care with candles and incense sticks, and your charged crystals.

Clear your energy field and step into your Moon bath.

Visualize this Moon water to help you release fears and limiting beliefs from within your subconscious. Ask yourself: What is preventing me from becoming the best version of myself?

Finally, end your bath by visualizing your mind, body, and soul being supercharged with transformational positive vibes.

We recommend you repeat this three-step ritual for a week after the eclipse if needed.

Tune into Your Soul Lessons with This Lunar Eclipse Ritual

Rituals can feel overwhelming if you are new to spirituality. In truth, they really are about mindfully slowing down and honoring our journey. We hope this three-step Lunar eclipse ritual helps you channel this eclipse energy and fearlessly step into a new version of yourself.

About The Sagittarius Zodiac Sign

The wanderer with a heart of gold, Sagittarius may not seem like an easy zodiac sign to pin down and fully understand.

Sagittarius holds true to many of the core traits of any Fire sign, being bold, spontaneous, spunky, and full of adventure (and perhaps a little mischief). Being the Mutable sign of the fiery bunch, Sagittarius is all the more unpredictable and dislikes sticking with one thing for very long.

Perhaps if it weren’t for the influence of lucky and expansive Jupiter, we might see Sagittarius in a more chaotic or intense light. But this planet of growth and open-mindedness ruling the archer keeps Sagittarian energy feeling light, enthusiastic, and ready for anything!

For instance, the Sun, representing the ego and a core piece of the self, places the adventurous archer’s energy in many places of your life, including what you wish to put forth into the world.

The Moon, governing emotion and your inner world, allows you to connect with Sagittarius in the emotional space (which can feel fiery, unpredictable, and curious with this sign). Mercury In Sagittarius

If you have a Sagittarius Mercury, your archer energy comes through most in how you communicate and share information.

This placement is actually in detriment, which may seem strange for such an outgoing and curious sign. However, Sagittarius always has much to say and do but never seems to have enough time to fully articulate what is happening in their big, bright minds.

With this placement, it may feel like your communication doesn’t even always do you justice and that there’s always a more philosophical discussion to be had.

Venus In Sagittarius

Venus, the planet of love and beauty, ultimately shows us how we love. So, Venus in Sagittarius is fun, fiery, and excitable within relationships and connections with others.

More than anything, you crave adventure, excitement, and growth within this area of your life. You may find it hard to settle down, but the key to solving this dilemma is actually quite simple and comes down to finding connections with people that want to grow and change as much as you do!

Mars In Sagittarius

Mars, planet of war, ambitions, and will, shows us, as you may expect, how we express our ambitions and goals.

With Mars in Sagittarius, you are undeniably full of spark and life but may wish to take on too much at once, or sometimes experience intense ebbs and flows of not wanting to do anything at all — and then the next day, you’re off on your next adventure!

Unpredictable and thrill-seeking, it’s this spontaneity and excitement that also keeps this placement special and a force of change for the world.

Jupiter In Sagittarius

Sitting pretty in its home planet, Jupiter in Sagittarius is domicile — AKA, super comfy in this placement.

Jupiter shows us how we expand, grow, and broaden our horizons, sometimes by unpredictable or strange means. Sagittarius equally extends its arms in that direction no matter what, so the two are a match made in heaven.

When you embrace adventure and wander on the side of the unknown, you’re more likely to succeed in all that you do with this lucky placement.

Saturn In Sagittarius

The sight of Saturn in your birth chart isn’t always pretty, as it’s the planet of restrictions, karma, and discipline. It restricts whatever it touches.

So it may seem like freedom-loving Sagittarius is a mismatch for Saturn, and from time to time, you certainly will wrestle with intense themes of freedom vs. restraint in your life with this placement.

Still, both energies adhere to what they feel is right at their core, having a strong sense of ethics and identity. So aligning with that can make this placement a powerful one, too.

Uranus In Sagittarius

Most people born in the ’80s will have Uranus in Sagittarius, being the older end of the millennial generation.

Uranus, the planet of rebellion and change, loves the freedom-loving and adventurous spirit of Sagittarius. We can see this in how many within the millennial generation have opted for change and renewal in making waves throughout society.

Neptune In Sagittarius

This planet of dreams, illusions, and intuition linking up with the adventurous archer made plenty of sense for children born into a time of ‘70s hippies and waves of rebellion and change.

Pluto In Sagittarius

With Pluto in Sagittarius in the charts of those born between the mid-’90s and late 2000s, we’ve finally made our way into seeing Generation Z’s astrological imprints.

The planet of change and intense transformation meets the Sagittarian open-mindedness and love for freedom in a profound mix of rebellion and shift in ideas.

Called “rebels with a cause” as early as the early 2010s, when many were still children, we have yet to see the mark they’ll be making with this powerful placement.

Chiron In Sagittarius

Chiron shows us where we hold some of the deepest wounds.

With Chiron in Sagittarius, the wounds are felt in areas where you were restricted, not allowed to express yourself freely, or made to feel like your growth, expansion, or sense of luck and whimsy were not valuable assets.

Sagittarius In the Birth Chart: The Astrological Houses

Even if you have no planets in Sagittarius, you can still see where the energy of Sagittarius lands in your chart through your houses!

One of your natal houses should fall in Sagittarius—depending on the house system, some may have more than one, and some may have none.

Sagittarius In The 1st House

If your 1st house is in Sagittarius, the qualities of this passionate and eccentric sign are projected outwards.

So even if you feel like you land on the more introverted side of the outgoing spectrum, others may still seem to perceive you as spontaneous, adventurous, and leading the next big idea or conversation.

Sagittarius In The 2nd House

If your 2nd house is in Sagittarius, you may notice that money finds you when you least expect it or comes in unpredictable flows.

Everything the wild archer touches comes with a flair of whimsy, adventure, and unpredictability, so the 2nd house in Sagittarius is best experienced with that open-mindedness and go-with-the-flow spirit the archer is known for.

Sagittarius In The 3rd House

If your 3rd house is in Sagittarius, you’ll find its qualities highlighted in how you communicate with others.

The 3rd house is the house of communication amongst some other things (like siblings), which places some of Sagittarius’ outgoing and eccentric qualities in a particularly open space.

Even if your flow of internal thought and feelings doesn’t always seem to come with a fiery flair, it may seem like your words roll out that way nonetheless!

Sagittarius In The 4th House

If your 4th house is in Sagittarius, your foundations and sense of home will be structured around Sagittarius qualities.

This may create a tendency to create “home” in foreign places, or not wholly resonate with the idea of traditional home and family structures. A love of traveling or living abroad might spur from this placement in particular.

Sagittarius In The 5th House

If your 5th house is in Sagittarius, the qualities of the archer can come out in love and with your hobbies.

Your love for philosophy, spiritual topics, and branching out into unknown territory may take heavy priority and emphasis in your hobbies, studies, and personal leisure. You may even feel compelled to take center stage with these pursuits and share your knowledge with others!

Sagittarius In The 6th House

If your 6th house is in Sagittarius, you assist and help others with its wandering, open-minded spirit.

Your spiritual knowledge and pursuits, for example, may be of particular importance in how you spread light in the world. Others may look to you as a beacon of insight and guidance.

Sagittarius In the 7th House

The 7th house in astrology rules over partnerships and shows us how we intimately connect with others in a one-on-one space.

As such, a Sagittarius in 7th house placement requires growth and adventure in their connections with others and looks for other peers with similar aspirations or at least ones that can expand their horizons too.

Sagittarius In The 8th House

With the 8th house in Sagittarius, you may find that topics like religion, the occult, or taboo, strange themes in life are what grant you a sense of adventure.

Because the 8th house is a place of the hidden (including hidden finances, like inheritances and wealth), you strive to understand, dig deep, and prod into the depths of the human psyche, experience, and life.

The complexities of human nature are truly fascinating to a Sagittarian 8th houser, and it’s here that you find a sense of liberation.

Sagittarius In The 9th House

If your 9th house is in Sagittarius, you’ll find its qualities especially highlighted, as this is the archer’s native house!

Travel, exploring different philosophies, and venturing outside of traditional home turf is a must for this placement. Spiritual questions will be pondered, and new lands will be unearthed.

Embrace the love of learning and exploration of new places, and this placement will reward you!

Sagittarius In The 10th House

If your 10th house is in Sagittarius, the qualities of the archer take over in your career.

Others might expect you to teach, have all the answers (or questions), and be open about sharing your philosophical and spiritual wisdom with the world.

Whether or not you’re in an untraditional career field, you may also find that you end up being a trailblazer or questioning why things are the way they are in your workplace.

Sagittarius In The 11th House

With the worldly 11th house ruling over friendships and community, Sagittarius in this house thrives when surrounded by those that challenge their beliefs (or will at least engage with them about their own).

For those with this placement, the community is about growth and change, and you’ll likely seek others that are equally open-minded about being changemakers and adventurers in the world.

Sagittarius In The 12th House

With the 12th house holding illusions, mysteries, and the subconscious, Sagittarius being housed here opens you up to some of the philosophical or foreign mysteries you never knew existed.

Passionate teachers full of optimism and curiosity, this placement can be a powerful beacon of insight. On the flip side, you’ll need to learn how to channel this eccentric energy to get there — lest you risk getting lost in all the abundant questions your mind seems to run wild with.

Wandering With the Sagittarian Spirit

No matter where Sagittarius lands in your birth chart, it adds a bit of a wandering, unpredictable, and fiery spirit to that planet or house.

Maybe you’re typically the down-to-Earth friend, and the sight of this strange sign is making you question how you should be channeling your inner adventurer. Or maybe you’ve known you’re a bit of a trailblazer all your life, and seeing the archer in your chart helps clarify where you can place that energy effectively.

Either way, if you’re a Sagittarius (or a Sag Moon/Ascendant), follow your daily horoscope.

Your menstrual cycle and the Moon definitely have one thing in common—they both follow 28-day cycles. Yet, does this mean that the Moon plays a part in your menstrual cycle? And if so, how?

Before the internet and phone apps became regular occurrences in our lives, the cycle of the Moon was followed more closely, offering ways to track and measure certain times of the year and more. More specifically, those that lived close to the water used the Moon to track tidal changes.

At the same time, there are tons of interesting similarities between the menstrual cycle and the Moon.

So, let’s dive a little deeper into this relationship—what meaning can we infer from the Moon phases and the menstrual cycle, and what should you know?

The Menstrual Cycle Moon Connection

The truth is that the research is mixed. Some studies show that there is no link. Yet, there’s almost just as much research indicating there might be a link.

In one study, researchers showed how some women’s cycles synced up with the Moon and even with the Moon’s gravitational pull. Other research showed how a large proportion of menstruation happened at the time or around the Full Moon.

Then, other longer, more intensive studies have noted zero links. So, what’s the deal with the Full Moon and the menstrual cycle? What is going on here? Is there some sort of association?

The truth is it really depends on what you believe. Some believers hypothesize that the following is how your menstrual cycle and the Moon sync up.

The Waxing Moon

The Follicular Phase

The follicular phase is the longest part of the menstrual cycle.

During this time, the ovaries are producing follicles (and mature eggs). The uterus lining is thickening as estrogen increases. Basically, your body is preparing for ovulation and, potentially, pregnancy.

Interestingly, the Waxing Moon phase has a focus on “expansion” (similar to the idea of pregnancy). In fact, this time offers the perfect space to pursue your dreams and expand your horizons in terms of goals and friendships.

The Full Moon

The Ovulatory Phase

Ovulation occurs around days 13-15 of your menstrual cycle. Estrogen and progesterone levels rise. Similar to how many women experience their peak energy during this time, the Full Moon is considered to be at its peak energy.

This marks a powerful time, both in regards to your period and the Moon cycle. It’s a good time to let go of what doesn’t serve you and re-focus on what will bring abundance into your life.

The Waning Moon

The Luteal Phase

After ovulation, your body enters the luteal phase.

This lasts about 14 days unless fertilization of the egg occurs. In that case, pregnancy happens. During this time, the follicle that released the egg goes on to produce progesterone.

This signifies a resilient time.

Yet, as the end of this phase approaches, you might notice your energy begin to decrease, similar to that of the Waning Moon. This indicates it’s time to rest. If your menstrual cycle and the Moon sync up here, self-care takes on an even more important meaning as you attempt to balance the energies of the surrounding world and yourself.

Try gentle stretching, baths, naps, and any other practices that feel soothing and bring peace and calm into your life.

The New Moon

The Menstrual Phase

These two phases go hand-in-hand. The New Moon signifies the beginning of a new phase. It’s all about starting fresh and preparing yourself for a new beginning. As you can likely already tell, this goes right in line with the menstrual cycle.

During the menstrual phase, the body is getting ready for a second shot at a fresh life (quite literally). It’s flushing out the old uterine lining and preparing for another new beginning.

In the midst of transitional moments in life, it’s always important to take time to yourself. Listen to your body. Note how you feel and follow those feelings.

Identifying Your Menstrual Cycle & Moon Connection

Ideally, you want these two cycles to work together. The only way to start doing this is by examining the Moon cycle and determining where your cycle falls in it. Even if you don’t fully align with the above, the energies associated with each Moon cycle might offer insight into how you feel during each phase.

For example, some women might start menstruation with the Full Moon. Thus, this time is best to let go and re-focus on your pursuits.

Were the Moon Phase & Menstrual Cycle Previously Aligned?

Here’s the thing, though: in-depth research on the topic wasn’t exactly explored before technology. In fact, women’s health and cycles weren’t a huge focus in scientific or medical communities.

Many researchers actually hypothesize that the human reproductive cycle was likely more aligned with the Moon. Yet, due to modern lifestyles, artificial light, technology, and more, this relationship isn’t as prominent as it used to be.

It’s similar to the circadian rhythm.

At a time before technology, humans functioned in sync with the Sun. With artificial lights and screens, it’s safe to say we don’t do this as much anymore. We do on some level, but not to the extent it used to be.

While this isn’t necessarily a problem, it does put us out of touch when it comes to the energies of the world, including the Moon cycle.

An easy way to get back in touch is by monitoring and recording it all. Do you have a New Moon menstrual cycle? What is the connection between certain Moon phases and your menstrual cycle?

You might consider tracking it to find out!

Use the Moon Cycle as Your Guide

The Moon can offer a window into your energy levels and where you should focus your energy toward. Unseen energies and connections are all around us. Sometimes, we just don’t notice them and need them to be pointed out.

So, start pointing them out. Find those hidden meanings and use them to your advantage.
